A road building machine for laying asphalt with a control switch (40) which is interconnected in an emergency stop circuitry (100), wherein said control switch is arranged at the paver outside from a detachable second control panel (120), wherein said control switch (40) is connected in a functional parallel electrical arrangement with a second electric emergency stop switch (20) if the detachable second control panel (120) is electrically connected to an electronic control circuit, wherein said control switch (40) is actuated by a switch function activated by said electrical coupling of said detachable second control panel (120) to said electronic control circuit such that if said detachable second control panel (120) is electrically connected to said electronic control circuit, said control switch (40) is actuated to be open, such that the emergency stop circuitry (100) is closed or open via said first or said second electric emergency stop switch (10, 20).
PLAUSIBILITY CHECK OF A PAVING DATA SET FOR A ROAD CONSTRUCTION MACHINE
A method for paving a road surface, wherein a paving data set is read into an on-board computer of a road construction machine. During a paving operation, working components of the road construction machine are controlled for paving the road surface on the, basis of the read-in paving data set. Before start of the paving operation, the paving data set is compared by a computing unit with a property profile of the road construction machine stored in a profile memory and, based on a result of the comparison, an assessment is made as to whether the road construction machine is suitable for paving the road surface.
INDEPENDENTLY ADJUSTABLE SCREED PLATES
Screed plate assemblies, screed units, and pavers and methods for operating such assemblies, units, and pavers are disclosed. Example assemblies, units, and pavers include a screed plate assembly described herein. Such a screed plate assembly includes a screed plate, sensor(s) and actuator(s). Each sensor is mechanically coupled to the screed plate, and operative to sense a pressure on the screed plate and to communicate the sensed pressure. Each actuator is mechanically coupled to the screed plate, and operative to receive an input related to controlling an angle of attack (AoA) of the screed plate and to control the AoA of the screed plate based on the received input independent of controlling an AOA of another screed plate.
Retention apparatus for screed cover
A screed assembly for use with a paving machine is disclosed. The screed assembly can optionally comprise: a screed plate; a heating assembly having a heating element positioned on the screed plate; a heating element cover positioned on or adjacent the heating element; a screed frame releasably coupled to the screed plate and having one or more openings therein; and a plurality of compression spring assemblies connected to the screed frame and connected to the heating element cover. Each of the plurality of compression spring assemblies can be are configured to exert a desired force on the heating element cover. The plurality of compression spring assemblies are accessible through the one or more openings of the screed frame and the bolt is moveable relative to the screed frame to adjust a position of the heating element cover relative to the heating element for facilitating removal of the heating element.
Methods and systems for determining an angle of attack and a cross slope of a paving machine
A method for determining a change in an angle of attack of a screed on a paving machine includes determining a first angle of attack of the screed, determining a second angle of attack of the screed based on data from at least one sensor located on the screed and at least one sensor located on a frame of the paving machine, and determining a change in the angle of attack based on the first angle of attack and the second angle of attack. The method also includes providing a notification of at least one of the first angle of attack, the second angle of attack, or the change in the angle of attack.
METHOD FOR ADJUSTING A TEMPERATURE OF A SCREED PLATE OF A PAVING SCREED OF A ROAD PAVER
A method is provided for adjusting a temperature of a screed plate of a paving screed of a road paver, wherein the paving screed comprises a heating element for heating the screed plate. The method may include measuring temperature of the screed plate over a time interval using a temperature sensor, and adjusting a target temperature of the heating element, depending on a time profile of the temperature of the screed plate, using a control unit of the road paver.
PAVING MACHINE ENGINE IDLE TIME REDUCTION
A system and method includes a paving machine, a vehicle, and one or more controllers. The paving machine includes an engine for powering the paving machine and the vehicle is associated with the paving machine. The one or more controllers are configured to determine an estimated time of arrival for the vehicle at the paving machine based on a location of the vehicle; identify a startup time for the paving machine, wherein the startup time comprises a time period between starting the engine of the paving machine and an operational parameter of the paving machine reaching a threshold value; and generate an indication to shut down the engine of the paving machine if the startup time for the paving machine is less than the estimated time of arrival of the vehicle associated with the paving machine.
Pavement repair system
A pavement repair system is provided utilizing solid phase auto regenerative cohesion and homogenization by liquid asphalt oligopolymerization technologies. The system is suitable for use in repairing asphalt pavement, including pavement exhibiting a high degree of deterioration (as manifested in the presence of potholes, cracks, ruts, or the like) as well as pavement that has been subject to previous repair and may comprise a substantial amount of dirt and other debris (e.g., chipped road paint or other damaged or disturbed surfacing materials). A system utilizing homogenization by liquid asphalt oligopolymerization is suitable for rejuvenating or repairing aged asphalt, thereby improving properties of the paving material.
ISOLATION FOR WORK MACHINE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS
A work machine includes a power source, a plurality of connectors, and an isolator circuit. The power source is configured to provide power to an electrical system of the work machine. The plurality of connectors are for electrically connecting external components to the work machine and are configured to receive power from the power source. The isolator circuit is connected between at least one of the plurality of connectors and the electrical system of the work machine to selectively terminate power to the at least one of the plurality of connectors while the power source is providing power to the electrical system of the work machine.
