System and Method for Transporting Heavy, Oversized Loads over Levee
A system and method transports a load across an expanse between first and second locations. The first and second locations can be on land and/or water and having a base surface of ground, waterbed, and/or vessel between them. The system includes supports, ramps, and a bridge assembly. The supports mounting on the base surface and are disposed on first and second sides of the expanse. The ramps mount on adjacent ones of the supports and/or on at least one the supports and the base surface. The bridge assembly has one or more longitudinal girders configured to extend parallel to one another across the expanse. Each girder has beams being modular and being hingedly connected end-to-end. Each girder has a first end supported on a first support, has a second end supported on a second support, and has an entire length between the ends that is self-supported. The entire self-supported length supports and transfers weight of the load to the ends supported on the supports. In this way, weight from the load is not transferred to a levee or the like in the expanse.
IMPROVEMENTS IN OR RELATING TO BRIDGES
A deployable bridge carried on or by a vehicle, the bridge being movable from a stowed position to a deployed position, in which a bridge launch mechanism is provided and has only a single actuator.
DEPLOYABLE PLATFORMS
A platform panel is disclosed. The panel includes a core having a top surface and a bottom surface. The core has a composite skin disposed on the top surface and the bottom surface of the core. Further, recessed pockets having a fastener port. Moreover, the panel includes a first hinge member disposed on a first side of the core, and a second hinge member disposed on an opposing side of the core in relation to the first hinge member.

Portable, height adjustable gangway and systems and methods for accessing vehicles or vessels
A portable, height-adjustable gangway includes a lower tower structure comprising a lower landing and a lower movement assembly comprising a first set of wheels permitting the lower tower structure to travel over ground, an upper tower structure comprising an upper landing, an upper movement assembly comprising a second set of wheels permitting the upper tower structure to travel over ground, and an extending tower support connecting the upper movement assembly and the upper landing and comprising expandable struts configured to move the upper landing towards and away from the upper movement assembly, and a travellator pivotally connected to the lower tower structure and pivotally connected to the upper tower structure such that, when the expandable struts of the tower support extend at least one of towards and away from the upper movement assembly, the escalator tilts. The escalator can be a continuous set of stairs, a gondola-like trolley, or both.
BOARDING BRIDGE HAVING TRANSPARENT DISPLAY, AND METHOD OF CONTROLLING SAME
Disclosed is a boarding bridge having a transparent display. The boarding bridge includes a first tunnel connected to a terminal gate, a second tunnel connected to be capable of overlapping with the first tunnel, and a control unit. The first tunnel and the second tunnel each have a plurality of transparent displays, and include at least one overlap detecting sensor unit. Through the overlap detecting sensor unit which detects whether a transparent display of the first tunnel and a transparent display of the second tunnel overlap, the controller can selectively control the playback of images on the transparent displays of the first and second tunnels.
Movable tunnel braking system and passenger boarding bridge
A passenger boarding bridge having a movable tunnel and braking system includes a brake plate, a brake pin and a triggering device. The brake plate is fixedly disposed at a first tunnel of the plurality of tunnels, and the brake plate is provided with a plurality of brake slots. The brake pin is movably disposed at a second tunnel of the plurality of tunnels, which is sleeve-connected with the first tunnel and can be combined with the brake slot. The triggering device includes a mechanical blocking portion, a linkage mechanism and a tensile spring. The mechanical blocking portion is fixedly disposed at the second tunnel. When the tensile wire rope or the retracting wire rope is broken, the linkage mechanism is driven to move and drives the brake pin to combine with the brake slot, to brake the first tunnel and the second tunnel.
Pneumatic structural element
The pneumatic support has a pneumatic body which can be placed pneumatically under pressure and which, under operating pressure, operationally keeps at a distance apart a compression member which extends substantially over its length and a tension member which likewise extends substantially over its length, wherein forces are introduced at force introduction points in end regions of the compression member and the tension member into said members and wherein connecting elements are provided between the compression member and the tension member and introduce forces into the compression member and the tension member likewise at force introduction points, wherein, furthermore, the pneumatic body has formations which extend between adjacent force introduction points and which project outwardly beyond a rectilinear connection between the adjacent force introduction points. As a result, undesired distortion of the support under operating pressure, but without operating load, is avoided.
