A sea-cross high-speed tunnel structure suspended in water includes a pipe body capable of suspending in water. The pipe body is formed by fixedly connecting a plurality of pipe sections. A reinforced concrete horizontal partition plate for dividing each pipe section to form an upper chamber and a lower chamber is fixed in each pipe section. Two closed tunnels arranged along a length direction of the pipe body are disposed in the upper chamber. Reinforced concrete fin plates are symmetrically disposed in a horizontal direction outside the pipe sections. A steel closed tunnel shell fixed to the reinforced concrete horizontal partition plate is disposed in the upper chamber. A rail bed is disposed in the steel closed tunnel shell. Electromagnetic regulating devices disposed transversely are fixedly connected between both sides of the rail bed and the steel closed tunnel shell.

A floating structure based on the tensegrity principle is described. A planar closed loop structure (1700) has a plurality of beams (300) and a plurality of beam adapters (700). Each of the plurality of beams (300) is formed by coupling multiple n-strut twisted prism units. Each of the multiple n-strut twisted prism units includes n-sided planar polygonal surfaces on opposite sides through which the respective n-strut twisted prism unit is coupled to another n-strut twisted prism unit or a beam adapter. Each of the plurality of beam adapters (700) is an m-strut twisted prism unit having planar polygonal side faces for coupling to an n-sided planar polygonal surface of a beam (300).

A marine structure including a floating deck attached to a damper configured to control the vertical movement of the deck. The damper allows vertical motion of the floating deck in response to gradual changes in water level such as tidal changes, but resists bouncing of the deck in response to shorter term fluctuations in water level such as boat wakes or wind chop.

Method of assembling a floating structure

In one aspect the invention provides a nut and tie rod assembly which includes a composite material tie rod defining a main shaft with an exterior surface. The tie rod is formed from reinforcing fibers encapsulated within a matrix material, and at least a portion of the exterior surface of the shaft defines an engagement structure. The assembly also includes at least one nut which includes an internal cavity with an interior surface defining an engagement structure which is complimentary to the engagement structure defined on the exterior surface of the shaft of the tie rod.

Method of assembling a floating structure

In one aspect the invention provides a nut and tie rod assembly which includes a composite material tie rod defining a main shaft with an exterior surface. The tie rod is formed from reinforcing fibers encapsulated within a matrix material, and at least a portion of the exterior surface of the shaft defines an engagement structure. A mechanism includes at least two pins that are movable along the at least two male and female wedge slots, respectively, between unlocked and locked positions.
