Thermochromatic reflective pavement markers for indicating changing road conditions
A reflective pavement marker for a roadway includes a body having a bottom adapted to be secured to the roadway and at least one a reflector on the body. The reflector includes an outer face for receiving light and an inner face comprising a plurality of light reflecting elements for receiving and reflecting the light back through the outer face. The reflector comprises a light transmitting and thermochromatic polymer adapted to transition at a predetermined transition temperature so as to change the color of the light reflected by the reflector depending on the temperature of the polymer. The predetermined transition temperature can be selected so that the color change of the light reflected by the reflector indicates freezing or near freezing road conditions.
VISUAL CUE SYSTEM FOR ROADWAYS
Implementations of a visual cue system for conveying road state data to one or more vehicles traveling on a roadway can include a set of visual cue units that receive road state data and selectively issue a visual cue based on the road state data, at least one visual cue unit including a data processing unit configured to process the road state data and determine a light pattern based on a set of light pattern generation rules, and a light pattern display that selectively issues at least a portion of the light pattern to the one or more vehicles traveling on the roadway.
SYSTEM FOR ILLUMINATING A CARRIAGEWAY IN A CASE OF FOG
A system for illuminating a carriageway in a case of fog includes a road safety barrier arranged along the carriageway, at least one fog density detecting device arranged along the road safety barrier, and a plurality of light sources borne by the road safety barrier, distributed along the road safety barrier, and oriented for each to emit a light beam having a direction that is transversal to an extension axis of the road safety barrier so as to illuminate signage on the carriageway. A control unit that is connected to the light sources and to the fog density detecting device is configured to activate the light sources when the fog density detecting device detects a fog density value of above a threshold value.

Solar Powered Illuminated Safety marker and Improved Housing Therefor
A self-contained solar-powered illuminated safety marker having an improved housing design adapted for secure, flush-mounting into a road surface which includes a projection positioned to extend vertically downward from the bottom surface of the safety marker to secure the housing in its flush mounted position into a road surface and a solar cell with circuitry designed to illuminate the safety marker in response to a variety of environmental conditions.
Road sensor system
A road sensor system for sensing data about a road surface and for providing that data, in real time, to data receivers. The system includes a communications network and a data control center that receives and transmits data via the communications network. Sensor assemblies include a housing that is implanted into the road surface, a sensor in the housing that collects sensor data related to an area local to the sensor assembly, and a communications module for communicating sensor data via the communications network from the sensor to the data control center for storage in the database. Sensor data received and stored is associated with location data for a location of the road surface where the housing is implanted. The data receivers receive sensor data or metadata derived from sensor data via the communications network.
