System for Moving a Barrier with Warning Devices Thereon
A system for moving a barrier protecting a restricted area. A stationary linear induction motor moves the barrier by applying a magnetic field from the linear induction motor to a reaction fin attached to the barrier. The reaction fin has a groove on each side, which is engaged with guide members to guide the barrier. Holes are evenly spaced along the length of the reaction fin. Magnetic sensors sense the holes during movement of the barrier to determine the speed, position and direction of the barrier. Current flows in the reaction fin melt ice in cold weather environments. The system is operated by a main control logic that receives input data from the electronic sensors and controls the linear induction motor, heater and locking mechanism. An inductive connection charges a storage device mounted on the barrier, which storage device powers warning signals on the barrier.
Shock Absorbing Retractable Bollard Systems
A barrier system includes a handrail, and a connector to couple the handrail to a post extension that extends upward from a floor. The handrail has and end with a width measured in a direction transverse to an elongate length of the handrail. The connector includes a socket to hold the end of the handrail. The socket is defined by an elongate channel that extends in a direction substantially parallel to the post extension when the connector is attached to the post extension. The channel has a length that is greater than the width of the end of the handrail.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR VEHICLE BARRIERS
Systems and methods for autonomous, modular, and/or multi-segment vehicle barriers, such as portable vehicle barriers that may be automatically anchored to the ground in response to threat detection.
Server, power management system, and power management method
A green zone exists in which traveling of a vehicle using an amount of electric power that has a greenhouse gas emission intensity greater than a regulatory limit is restricted. A server includes. I/O ports through which the emission intensity of the electric power supplied from an electric vehicle supply equipment is obtained; and a processor that associates the amount of electric power charged from the electric vehicle supply equipment to a battery with the emission intensity obtained through the I/O ports. The processor: determines, based on an amount of electric power having an emission intensity less than the regulatory limit within the amount of electric power stored in the battery, whether a vehicle should be permitted to travel in the green zone; and notifies a user of the vehicle of a determination result.
IMPACT RESISTANT RETRACTABLE SAFETY BARRIERS
Impact resistant retractable safety barriers are disclosed. An apparatus includes a support member, a flexible elongate member to extend and retract through an opening in the support member, and a stop member including a region to interface with the flexible elongate member. The stop member engages with structure of the support member surrounding the opening to limit a distance with which the flexible elongate member extends through the opening. The stop member cooperates with the structure of the support member to maintain a gap between a surface of the region of the stop member and the structure of the support member. A width of the gap is equal to or greater than a thickness of the flexible elongate member.

PORTABLE BARRICADE AND PORTABLE BARRICADE SYSTEM
A portable barricade includes a road plate, first and second support posts extending upward from end portions of the road plate, a barricade arm extending between the first and second support posts, and a lift coupled one of the end portions of the barricade arm and a corresponding one of the first and second support posts. Actuation of the lift is configured to slide the barricade arm relative to the first and second support members between a retracted position proximate to the road plate and a deployed position distal from the road plate.
Roadway Safety System
A safety system to prevent a wrong-way vehicle from entering a roadway by driving onto an exit ramp in the wrong direction. A detection system monitors and detects the wrong-way vehicle as soon as it enters the exit ramp in the wrong direction. Upon detecting a wrong-way vehicle, the roadway safety system remotely sends a signal to turn off the motor of the wrong-way vehicle. The system may also record the vehicle's identification and communicate it to a command center to determine the mobile phone number of the owner/driver and call the driver to alert them that they are driving the wrong-way. Alternatively, a series of one or more penetrable and/or impenetrable barriers could be deployed to stop the wrong-way vehicle. The safety system may further include a communications system to communicate to a central office to initiate other alarms and control traffic on the roadway in response to detecting a wrong-way vehicle.
