A towable crash-attenuating vehicle is shown having a frame; at least two axles coupled to the frame, each of the axles having wheels attached thereto; a ballast coupled to the frame; deflection shields coupled to the right and left sides of the frame, wherein the deflection shields cover the frame and a majority of the wheels on each side of the vehicle; a tow connection coupled to the front of the frame; an impact attenuator coupled to the rear of the frame; wherein the vehicle is provided with a brake system, and wherein the vehicle is provided with an mechanism for locking and unlocking the brake system.

INTELLIGENT VEHICLE CAPTURING APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR HIGH-PIER BRIDGE

An intelligent vehicle capturing apparatus for a high-pier bridge includes: a double-layer metal protective net, support unit and actuation unit connected thereto. The protective net mounts to a high-pier bridge backside through the support unit. The actuation unit includes a hydraulic link mechanism connected to one end of the protective net. The hydraulic link mechanism unwinds the protective net to capture a vehicle. The apparatus stops a vehicle rushing off a high-pier bridge. Upon completion, a hydraulic system drives a third hydraulic cylinder in a support rod on the high-pier bridge backside driving a rolling shaft rotating, winding and placing a protective net on the high-pier bridge backside. The apparatus has a simple structure, is practical and easily used, useful on hazardous high-pier bridges protecting vehicle passengers and avoiding traffic accidents resulting from vehicles rushing out of the high-pier bridges.

PORTABLE KIOSK BASE

An emergency response barrier is shown and described, the barrier having a frame with reinforcing bracing; two axles coupled to the frame with wheels attached thereto; a king pin coupled to the frame; wherein the frame is covered with a substantially planar skin that extends along the right and left sides of the frame, from a top of the frame down to a lower edge and covers a majority of the wheels on each side of the barrier; an impact attenuator coupling on the frame, having a vertical pin received in a bore disposed on an impact attenuator, and configured for rotation about the vertical axis of the pin; and a hydraulic cylinder connected between the frame and the impact attenuator, wherein retraction and extension of the hydraulic cylinder moves the impact attenuator through an arc of rotation about the vertical pin.

Barrier System and Barrier System Installation Method

Disclosed herein is a bollard system including an impact receiving post and a foundation cage. The impact receiving post includes an outer surface, a proximal end, and a distal end. The foundation cage defines a three-dimensional lattice structure. The foundation cage is coupled to the proximal end of the impact receiving post and is configured for installation in concrete beneath a ground surface. The foundation cage defines a recess to receive a proximal portion of the impact receiving post. The foundation cage includes a horizontal stop member at least partially extending across the recess and supporting the impact receiving post and preventing the impact receiving post from extending further into the foundation cage before the concrete sets.

Surface mount security barrier

A security barrier includes a plurality of barrier islands. Each barrier island has a concrete crash block having at least one pair of opposing side faces and external fixing elements on the opposing side faces. Attachments, which may be flexible attachments, extend between the external fixing elements of adjacent barrier islands of the security barrier. Each barrier island also has one or more load transfer element within the concrete crash block and, under load, the load transfer elements transfer load from the external fixing elements on one side of the concrete crash block to the external fixing elements on the opposing side of the concrete crash block.

GUARDRAIL TERMINAL

Guardrail, guardrail terminal, and support post designs that improve control of a vehicle during collisions are described. The disclosed designs also reduce the likelihood of intrusion into vehicle systems and the occupant compartment(s). Embodiments include folding and/or flattening of the guardrail and controlling the folded and flattened guardrail to avoid intrusion into the vehicle. Other embodiments include containing the guardrail in an impact head of a guardrail terminal, which also avoids vehicle intrusion.
