Portable Vehicle Barrier
20210348348 · 2021-11-11 ·

A portable vehicle barrier is transportable to a desired location, unfolded from a compact transport configuration and deployed to provide an effective vehicle barrier that can be used temporarily and then refolded into the compact transport configuration and transported to a remote location for utilization or storage. The vehicle barrier is formed with a central base having front and rear sections that are pivotally hinged to the central base. A barrier member can be selectively activated to rise into an active position and restrain the passage of vehicles. An impact into the barrier member causes the central base to tip in order to drive pointed teeth into the tires of the vehicle and into the underlying road surface and stop the impacting vehicle. The front and rear sections have vertical bars that move into a nesting horizontal position when the front and rear sections are pivoted into the transport position.

IMPACT DETECTING AND TRACKING SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR VEHICLE CRASH ATTENUATOR SYSTEMS

An impact tracking system includes a sensor module that mounts to a fixed crash attenuator, sign, guardrail, or other roadway devices installed along a roadway. When the crash attenuator or other asset is impacted by an errant vehicle, the impact tracker, comprising a sensor system, senses and captures the impact data and sends an alert message to a remote receiver. The receiver may comprise known data receiving means, such as computers or phone systems, which may receive emails, text messages, photos, and the like in real or near real time. Received data may be analyzed, stored, and/or re-transmitted to additional receivers, which may include road authorities, such as transportation departments responsible for inspecting and repairing the impact attenuators.

Security arm barrier

A variety of systems, methods, and compositions are disclosed, including in one method, a security arm barrier system, the system comprising: a drive stanchion mounted to a first substructure; an arm barrier coupled to the drive stanchion, wherein the arm barrier further comprises: a first member, wherein a proximal end of the first member is coupled to the drive stanchion; a second member, wherein a proximal end of the second member coupled to a distal end of the first member; and an articulating joint that couples the first member and the second member, and an energy absorbing material disposed within the first member and the second member; and a receiver stanchion mounted to a second substructure capable of receiving a distal end of the second member.
