A refuse collection system includes one or more memory devices storing instructions thereon, that, when executed by one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to (a) receive a request for refuse collection from a customer, (b) identify, based on the request, a location of a pickup zone associated with the customer, (c) receive location data indicating a current location of the refuse collection robot, (d) generate a route for the refuse collection robot to travel from the current location of the refuse collection robot to the location of the pickup zone, and (e) control the refuse collection robot to follow the route and perform the refuse collection.

A trajectory is calculated and control commands are produced for a longitudinal guiding and transverse guiding of the cleaning vehicle during travel of the calculated trajectory. At least one actuator is controlled, based on the received measurement data, in order to position a cleaning device of the cleaning vehicle in the longitudinal direction and/or transverse direction relative to a direction of travel of the cleaning vehicle, in order to clean the cleaning region. A system can include: a street sweeper configured to clean a street, the street sweeper including: a meter module to detect a consumption of water by the street sweeper, wherein the meter module is programmed to quantify an amount of water used by the street sweeper and to send the amount of water to a central server; and a street surface deviation detection device coupled to the street sweeper, the street surface deviation detection device being configured to measure changes in a surface of the street and send the changes to the central server; and the central server programmed to receive the amount of water.

A coupling mechanism for removably coupling a storage cart to a surface maintenance machine includes a cart-side connector connectable to the storage cart and a machine-side connector connectable to the surface maintenance machine. The coupling mechanism includes a connecting rod engageable with the machine-side connector. The coupling mechanism includes a bracket assembly positioned between the cart-side connector and the machine-side connector. The bracket assembly can receive the connecting rod to engage therewith to facilitate a first relative movement between the connecting rod and a portion of the bracket assembly in a direction perpendicular to a floor surface on which the surface maintenance machine is traveling, and a pivoting of the bracket assembly about a pivot axis passing through the connecting rod.
