A water area may be sheltered by installing, at an active boundary of the water area, a plurality of shields mounted on posts, each shield having a lower edge immersed in the water. Each shield may dissipate at least a portion of wave energy approaching the active boundary of the water area. One or more piers may be positioned within the sheltered water area or basin.

AUTOMATIC GATE OPERATION AND SYSTEM STATUS INDICATION FOR MARINE BARRIERS AND GATE SYSTEMS
20180266068 · 2018-09-20 ·

A system is provided for automatic operation and status indication of a marine barrier gate. Embodiments include a system having a buoyant barrier gate that is movable between a closed position and an open position. An actuator moves the gate between the open and closed positions, and a sensor is operably connected to the actuator to generate data relating to a position of the barrier gate between the open and closed positions. A processor receives the data from the sensor and processes the data to move the gate between the open and closed positions, and detect the position of the gate. A human-machine interface is operably connected to the processor for communicating the detected position of the barrier gate to a user.

SELF-ADJUSTING DRIVE-ON FLOATING DOCK

PORT MONITORING SYSTEM

A port monitoring system including: a port environment detection unit in which it is important to monitor the accurate position and posture of ships, especially large ships, in a port (or harbor), and which monitors the position and status of fenders in the port, and measures the environmental conditions of the port and thus generates port environment information to integrally manage ships and fenders in order to efficiently manage the port; a ship monitoring unit which is included in a ship and generates ship information of the ship; a fender monitoring unit which is included in a fender and generates fender information of the fender; a network; and a port management unit.

Marine cargo loader and handrail apparatus

A marine cargo loader and handrail device includes a base plate, a post and a platform that is pivotally mounted to the post to allow the platform to move upward and downward. The platform can have two positions, the stored and deployed positions. When stored, the platform is in an upright position. When deployed, the platform is in a substantially horizontal plane with respect to the post. The device may also include a gas dampener to allow for a smooth descent from the stored position downward to the deployed position.

AUTOMATED MOORING DEVICE

In summary, described herein is a mooring device for mooring a first structure to a second structure, the device comprising: an engagement member for releasably engaging the first structure; a dampener having a first portion movably connected to a second portion, the first portion being connected to the engagement member and the second portion being connected to the second structure, wherein the dampener is configured to damp load transfer between the first and second portions of the dampener and thereby damp relative motion between the first and second structures.
