LARGE TIDAL CURRENT ENERGY GENERATING DEVICE AND ASSEMBLY PLATFORM THEREOF
The present invention provides an assembly platform of a large tidal current energy generating device. The assembly platform is internally provided with at least one horizontal axis hydro-generator. The assembly platform includes supports, at least four fixed piles, at least two sleeving members and at least two force-bearing supports. The fixed piles are connected through the supports to form an installation space. The hydro-generator is installed inside the installation space, one end of each fixed pile is driven to be fixed to a seabed and the other end extends to be above a water surface. Ends of the at least two force-bearing supports are respectively mounted on the left and right sides of the horizontal axis hydro-generator along the water flow direction and the other ends are respectively provided with corresponding sleeving members so as to resist an impact force of a water flow on the horizontal axis hydro-generator.

Apparatus And Method For Extracting Energy From A Fluid
An apparatus and method is disclosed for extracting energy from an oscillating working fluid, such as ocean waves. The apparatus (10) comprises an internal flow passage (40) for the working fluid, a turbine (44) and a flow control device (38), each of the turbine (44) and the flow control device (38) being in direct fluid communication with the flow passage (40), wherein in use the flow control device (38) is selectively moveable between a first configuration in which the flow control device (38) is open to allow a flow of the working fluid, such as air, to exit the flow passage (40) therethrough, and a second configuration in which the flow control device (38) restricts a flow of the working fluid therethrough. In such an instance, the working fluid then must enter the flow passage (40) via the turbine (44), which can be harnessed to generate electricity.

Power take-off apparatus for a wave energy converter and wave energy converter comprising the same
A power take-off apparatus for a wave energy converter of point absorber type, includes a cylinder attachable to a floating device, a piston that reciprocates inside the cylinder and has a piston rod attachable to a mooring, at least one penstock with a first end in communication with a second end of the cylinder through a first opening, and a second end having a second opening, and a housing above a cylinder first end. The housing communicates with the penstock through the second opening and with the cylinder through a third opening in the housing such that the cylinder, penstock and the housing form a closed loop for a fluid in the power take-off apparatus. A water turbine is arranged inside the housing so that working fluid entering the housing from the at least one penstock causes rotation of the water turbine to drive an electrical generator connected thereto.

Energy harvesting from moving fluids using mass displacement
Energy is harvesting from fluids with different densities, such as water (34) and air (38) with a rotor (12) that is selectively above and below a water surface (30). The rotor (12) has cavities (31,32) inside tubes (18) with apertures (24) in walls (22) of the tubes (18). In a submerged mode, with the rotor (12) in the water (34), air is trapped in tubes (18) on one side of the rotor (12), which has apertures (24) facing down and air is released from the tubes (18) on the opposite side of the rotor (12), which has apertures (24) facing up. The opposite happens in an elevated mode.
Systems and methods for generating electrical energy
A vertical twin rotor water turbine apparatus and method for extracting energy from a flow of water is described herein. The described apparatus delivers favourable performance by virtue the operation of a novel configuration of a plurality of central cores with at least one blade member extending from each core and flow directors to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of said device.
