Data capture device and system
A data capture device and a data capture system are provided. The data capture device is configured to navigate along an elongate structure. The data capture device includes a surface scanner, for scanning a surface of the elongate structure; and a sensor, for capturing data relating to the elongate structure. The surface scanner and the sensor are configured to capture data relating to a common region.
CONTROLLING BACKFLOW FROM DRILLING WITH HOLLOW REBAR AND GROUTING
Backflow during installation of a ground anchor is controlled using a preventer, and the preventer is removed during curing of grout and backflow. A cylinder may be inserted at least partially into a structure, and the preventer placed or attached atop the cylinder. A hollow bar may be extended through the preventer and cylinder into one or more layers of materials beyond the cylinder. Grout may be delivered to the layer(s) through the hollow bar, which may cause a viscous backflow to flow into the cylinder and preventer. During application of the grout, the preventer may be used to control a rate of backflow. After application of the grout, the preventer may put into an open position, and a seal assembly forced down the hollow bar, through an interior cavity of the preventer, to a position below the preventer, after which the preventer may be removed while the grout and backflow cure.

Floating structure and method of installing same
Floating construction comprising: a flotation base, comprising at least one essentially hollow body selectively fillable with ballast, where the maximum horizontal dimension of the flotation base is greater than the maximum vertical dimension of the floating base; a building supported by said flotation base preferably comprising a telescopic tower; downward impelling means; and at least three retaining cables the corresponding upper ends of which are attached to said flotation base, preferably in peripheral positions of the flotation base, and the corresponding lower ends of which are attached to said downward impelling means, such that said retaining cables are taut and apply a downward force on said flotation base that increases the stability thereof. And the installation method for this floating construction.
Axial reinforcement system for restorative shell
An axial reinforcement system is disclosed that provides a shell (i.e., a form or jacket) that protects a weight-bearing member (e.g., a cement column) from a corrosive environment and which also substantially increases the structural capacity of the weight-bearing member. The shell is integrated with positioners and reinforcing elements, the combination of which offers several advantages over conventional shells. The positioner is attached directly to the shell and the positioner is, in turn, secured to a reinforcing element, which can be a reinforced steel, such as rebar, or a carbon fiber reinforced polymer material. The axial reinforcement system has been found to substantially increase the structural rigidity of the weight-bearing member, while at the same time protecting the weight-bearing member from corrosion and is also simple to install.
Protective pole cap
An example embodiment of the present invention provides a pole cap for covering an end of a pole. The pole cap comprises a sheet that includes a central portion, a first strip, and a flap that has a slit. The central portion is configured to cover a base surface of an end of a pole. The first strip is configured to fold over an edge of the base surface and circumferentially wrap around a portion of a curved surface of the pole. The flap is configured to fold over the edge of the base surface.
Guided multiple pile driver system
A system for simultaneously driving multiple piles into the ground to create A-frame type structures that are anchored by piles running at angles to one another and to the ground. The system comprises a guide assembly and an actuator for driving the piles into supporting ground at the same time. The actuator may engage slots or teeth in the pile to drive them into the ground and/or may apply torque and downward pressure.

END FRAME FOR USE WITH TRENCH SHIELD
An end frame includes a guide having a channel therethrough for receiving a sheet piling and a pair of hangers for hanging the end frame from a spreader of a trench shield. The end frame hangs from the spreader and bears against the adjacent ends of the sidewalls of the trench shield to provide a channel through which sheet piling can be inserted and stabilized as the sheet piling is driven into the soil adjacent to the end of the trench shield. The sheet piling and the end frame prevent unwanted cave-ins of soil into the workspace between the sidewalls of the trench shield without imparting unwanted buckling forces to the midsection of the spreader from which the end frame hangs. The hangers may be rigidly coupled to the guide or they may be coupled to the guide through chains, cables, straps or through pivoting linkages.
EXTRUDED FIBER REINFORCED PVC GROOVED PILE
A pile is comprised of a pipe, i.e., a tube or hollow cylinder of annular cross-section, with a coextensive internal reinforcement comprised of a plurality of intersecting walls forming a plurality of vertices. Each vertex intersects the pipe. Adjacent intersections are evenly spaced around the annular cross-section. The pile is comprised of a blend of PVC and 20 to 50% (pbw) chopped strand glass fibers. A groove is cut into the pile adjacent to an end for frictional retention in a sea bed.
