Earth retaining system such as a sheet pile wall with integral soil anchors
A soil retaining system combining flat sheet pile walls in an open cell configuration includes integral soil anchors providing an improved earth retaining system. Another aspect of the invention is a method of designing and installing a soil retaining system with an open sheet pile cell structure having integral soil anchors. The method includes, inter alia, calculating soil forces by taking into account material strength of sheet pile, soil friction against the sheet pile in combination with the strength of the integral soil anchor, selecting sheet pile size and length based on soil forces calculation; and installation of sheet pile to form a soil retaining system. The integral soil anchors serve to provide higher load resistance to the improved earth retaining system.

Guide systems and methods for diesel hammers
A guide system for allowing a diesel hammer to be supported by a plurality of support systems comprises a primary channel system and a pair of first and second channel adapter assemblies. The primary channel system rigidly connected to the diesel hammer to define a pair of primary channels and a primary spacing distance. Each first channel adapter assembly defines a first secondary channel. The guide system operates in a first configuration and a second configuration. In the second configuration, each of the first channel adapter assemblies is detachably attached to the primary channel system such that the first channel adapter assemblies define a first secondary spacing distance between the first secondary channels, the first secondary spacing distance is different from the primary spacing distance, and portions of a second support system of the plurality of support systems are received within the first secondary channels.
Excavating pump apparatus and pile installation apparatus comprising same
An excavating pump apparatus and a pile installation apparatus having the same are disclosed. An excavating pump apparatus in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention may include: an excavation head being inserted into an inner space of a pile through an open hole opening the inner space of the pile and being configured to crush seafloor sediments and allow the crushed seafloor sediments to be flowed therein; an outlet conduit connected to the excavation head and being a channel for discharging the seafloor sediments flowed into the excavation head to an outside of the pile; and a pump configured to move the seafloor sediments through the outlet conduit by providing a pump pressure to the outlet conduit.

Hydraulic noise suppressor and method for handling a hydraulic noise suppressor
A hydraulic noise suppressor for reducing water-borne noise, and method for handling the same, especially in the area of a construction site when an object is driven into underwater soil. The hydraulic noise suppressor can have at least two rigid holding elements, at least one support structure, and noise reducing elements secured to the at least one support structure, an upper end of the at least one support structure being secured to at least one of the at least two holding elements. The hydraulic noise suppressor can be divided along lateral flanks extending between the upper end and an opposite lower end of the at least one support structure.

Rotary press-in steel pipe pile
This rotary press-in steel pipe pile includes: a steel pipe; a first blade which is formed in a substantially helical shape on the steel pipe so as to be positioned close to the distal end the steel pipe and in which a first sectorial gap having a central angle is formed in a circumferential direction thereof; and a second blade which is formed in a substantially helical shape on the steel pipe so as to be positioned close to the rear end of the steel pipe with respect to the first blade and in which a second sectorial gap having a central angle is formed in a circumferential direction thereof. The first sectorial gap of the first blade and the second sectorial gap of the second blade are disposed at positions that do not overlap in a circumferential direction, and the central angle of the second sectorial gap is set to be smaller than the central angle of the first sectorial gap.
