Post-tension tube foundation and method of assembling same
A post-tensioned tube foundation for supporting a structure subject to high upset forces is described herein. The post-tensioned tube foundation includes an outer CMP, an inner CMP, and a tubular concrete base positioned between the inner CMP and the outer CMP. The outer CMP includes an inner surface that defines a cavity extending between a first open end and an opposite second open end. The outer CMP is positioned within an excavated hole defined along a ground surface. The inner CMP is positioned within the cavity of the outer CMP such that an annular space is defined between the inner CMP and the outer CMP. The tubular concrete base is positioned within the annular space defined between the inner CMP and the outer CMP. A plurality of bracing beams extend radially outwardly from the tubular concrete base.
Device, method, and system for reducing earth pressures on subterranean structures
The present inventive subject matter pertains to a device, system, and method that provides a buffer support for buried structures in response to lateral and vertical earth pressures of backfill material. The device having shaped form is able to provide timely response so as to reduce earth pressures of the backfill material exerted onto the buried structure. These behavioral features further enabling an effective geofoam device to be produced in thin proportion that conforms with industry standards.
REINFORCEMENT STRUCTURES FOR TENSIONLESS CONCRETE PIER FOUNDATIONS AND METHODS OF CONSTRUCTING THE SAME
A reinforced tensionless concrete pier foundation for supporting a tower and a method of constructing the same is provided, the foundation having an outer CMP and an inner CMP with an annular space therebetween in which a plurality of sleeved tower anchor bolts are embedded, and the pier foundation including at least one reinforcement structure that at least partly encircles the outer CMP to provide one or more of increased lateral stiffness, increased shear resistance and overturning (upset) moment capacity, reduced bending, displacement, and deflection of the top of the pier, and improved conditioning, containment, skin friction and lateral bearing capacity of the surrounding soil and/or rock substrate that supports the tensionless pier.

Corrugated shell bearing piles and installation methods
A bearing pile including a plurality of connected corrugated steel shells inserted into a subsoil and installation methodology of the same.
RETROFIT REINFORCING STRUCTURE ADDITION AND METHOD FOR WIND TURBINE CONCRETE GRAVITY SPREAD FOUNDATIONS AND THE LIKE
A retrofit reinforcing structure addition and method for an existing gravity spread foundation for a wind turbine or the like having a central pedestal and a spread section is provided.
The retrofit structure addition includes a collar formed around the pedestal of the spread foundation. The collar is formed by a shape sustaining member, such as a CMP, placed around the pedestal to define an annular ring between the CMP and the pedestal that is filled with cementitious material. Radial bolts extend horizontally through the collar and into the side of the pedestal. Soil and/or rock anchor bolts extend vertically through the collar, the spread portion of the foundation and into the underlying soil and/or rock substrate. The radial and anchor bolts are post-tensioned to ensure that the cementitious material of the collar remains in compression and the bolts are always in static tension, strengthening the original gravity spread foundation and extending the fatigue life thereof.

Box-type pipeline with circumferential obtuse angle connection
A box type duct with circumferential obtuse angle connection. Unit plates respectively located on the upper, lower and two side surfaces are spliced in the circumferential direction to form a unit pipe section, and the unit pipe sections are spliced in the axial direction to form a box type duct; wherein the unit plate is an arc-shaped corrugated plate arched to the outside of the box type duct, and the adjacent unit plates form an obtuse angle of circumferential connection. The cross section of the duct is in an approximately rectangular box shape, so the utilization ratio of clearance of the duct is high; the unit plate adopts an arc-shaped structure, and by utilizing the pipe-soil joint stressing principle, the strength and bearing capacity of the overall structure are maximized; and the box type duct adopts flat flange or angle steel flange connection in the circumferential direction.
Excavation shoring
Apparatus and associated methodology contemplating an excavation shoring apparatus, having a pipe sized to circumferentially enclose at least one human user working in a subterranean excavation. A plurality of channel brackets is attached to the pipe, each channel bracket forming an elongated cross-sectional profile defining a channel having a longitudinal axis extending along the channel bracket. The excavation shoring apparatus also has a plurality of selectively removable legs, each leg forming an elongated cross-sectional profile defining a beam. Each channel is configured to receivingly engage the beam in a closely-mating slidable relationship. The excavation shoring apparatus also has a plurality of removable fasteners, each connecting one of the legs to the respective channel bracket by simultaneously passing through an opening in the channel bracket and a selected opening of a plurality of openings in the leg. The selected opening in the leg corresponds to a desired position of the leg along the longitudinal axis.
CONCRETE PIER FOUNDATION WITH LATERAL SHEAR REINFORCING LOOPS AND METHODS OF CONSTRUCTING THE SAME
A concrete pier foundation having a plurality of sleeved tower anchor bolts embedded therein and a spiral loop encasement providing lateral shear reinforcement is provided. The spiral loop encasement surrounds at least a lower portion of the concrete pier and is formed by hoop steel wrapped around the perimeter of the tower anchor bolt cage. In proper soils or rock the spiral loop encasement can eliminate the need for corrugated metal pipes, reducing the cost and complexity of construction.
