Grouted helical pile
Provided is a helical pile having an elongated shaft, at least one helical blade on the shaft having a leading edge and a trailing edge, and a displacement paddle extending outward from the shaft longitudinally positioned between the leading and trailing edges of the blade to push away soil to create a grout channel surrounding the shaft. At least one grout propeller may be provided on the shaft, having at least one blade pitched an opposite direction from the helical blade to propel grout downward in the grout channel as the pile rotates.
Retaining wall system, method of supporting same, and kit for use in constructing same
A retaining wall can include wall blocks positioned to retain material against a rear side of the wall blocks. A method for supporting such a retaining wall method includes attaching at least one of the wall blocks to at least one ground-stabilizing base body supporting the wall blocks. The ground-stabilizing base body can include a flexible cable attached to the rear side of at least one of the wall blocks and to a portion extending rearward away from the rear side of at least one of the wall blocks.
System and method for heating the ground
A frost removal system is for thawing frozen ground and a method removes frost from a selected area of frozen ground. The method can include providing at least one heat transfer device; auguring a hole into the frozen ground to at least a depth of the frost. The at least one heat transfer device is lowered into the selected area of frozen ground and self-augured to the predetermined depth. The at least one heat transfer device is heated and the heat is allowed to travel along a length of the at least one heat transfer device. Heat is applied from the at least one heat transfer device for thawing the selected area of frozen ground until the frost is removed. The removal system may also be used to remove moisture from saturated soil and to bake columns of soil with increased load-bearing capacity.
UMBRELLA ANCHORAGE
The invention is an application that completely alter the operating principle and load transfer mechanism of the anchorage technique used in the field of civil engineering, in particular at the excavation bracing and slope stability applications with a novel root zone apparatus.
VERTICAL DRILLING SYSTEM OF AUGER TYPE PROVIDED WITH A TRAJECTORY CORRECTING DEVICE
The disclosure relates to a system for drilling a vertical well in soil according to a substantially vertical theoretical drilling trajectory comprising a drilling device including a hollow core having a longitudinal axis, the hollow core being provided with a drilling tool; a rotating driving device exhibiting an active state in which the driving device is oriented with respect to the soil in an angular correction position, and a passive state in which the driving device does not modify the displacement trajectory of the drilling device; a device for measuring the deviation of the hollow core; a control device configured to make the driving device swivel when a deviation is measured, in order to bring it in its active state in an angular correction position determined such that, considered in the horizontal plane, the trajectory correcting direction associated with the angular correction position is opposite to the deviation direction.
SOIL DISPLACEMENT PILES
Soil displacement piles having a shaft and one or more soil displacement assemblies secured to the shaft are provided. If more than one soil displacement assembly is utilized, each soil displacement assembly is separated by a longitudinal distance. Each soil displacement assembly has an upper helical plate, a lower helical plate and separated from the upper helical plate by a longitudinal plate distance, and at least one soil displacement plate positioned relative to the shaft, the upper helical plate and the lower helical plate.
