HOLLOW REBAR FOR POST-GROUTING THE BASE OF REINFORCED CONCRETE DRILLED SHAFTS
20200157756 · 2020-05-21 ·

Performing post-grouting of a drilled shaft includes forming the drilled shaft using a plurality of hollow rebar tubes, where each of at least one pair of hollow rebar tubes has a central longitudinal opening, coupling the at least one pair of hollow rebar tubes to a grout delivery mechanism disposed below the shaft, and providing grout to the grout delivery system through the at least one pair of hollow rebar tubes. Each of the at least one pair of hollow rebar tubes may include threads or ridges that eliminate debonding of the hollow rebar tubes from concrete of the drilled shaft. The hollow rebar tubes may be TITAN 52/26, TITAN 73/53 and/or TITAN 73/56 hollow threaded rebar. Each of the at least one pair of hollow rebar tubes may further provide structural reinforcement of the drilled shaft. The grout delivery mechanism may include a perforated pipe.

Lightweight molded cover

Disclosed is a cover for a utility vault and a method for making such covers. The cover is formed from fiberglass reinforcement layers, a low-density core, and a polymer mix matrix. The reinforcement layers include a bottom reinforcement layer, one or more edge reinforcement layers, and a top reinforcement layer. A first portion of the edge reinforcement layer overlaps a portion of the bottom reinforcement layer and a second portion of the edge reinforcement layer overlaps a portion of the top reinforcement layer. The core is positioned between the top and bottom reinforcement layers. The reinforcement layers are formed from fiberglass fabric and may include fiberglass layers whose fibers are oriented quadraxially. The polymer mix impregnates the fabric layers, encases the core, and binds the components together. The polymer matrix includes a thermoset polymer resin.

Embodiments of a mold for making a retaining wall blocks are disclosed. The mold enables blocks to be made more quickly by enabling separation of each block from the mold housing when the block is cured sufficiently to enable separation. Once separated, the block can be permitted to fully cure away from the mold housing, while the mold housing is re-used to produce one or more other blocks. In one embodiment, among others, the mold has a movable bottom tray and a mold housing with at least one door. The mold housing has an opening designed to receive and introduce a fabrication material, such as concrete, into the cavity. Once a block is sufficiently cured, it is separated from the mold housing on the tray through the at least one door, and a new tray is inserted in the mold housing to make another block.

BUILDING ELEMENTS FOR MAKING RETAINING WALLS, AND SYSTEMS AND METHODS OF USING SAME

A building element for coupling with other building elements to erect a retaining wall. Exemplary building elements have receiving spaces for receiving increased weight of fill material to provide increased stability. Optionally, each building element can have an enlarged face profile that provides efficiency in the shipping and assembly process. Optionally, each building element can define alignment voids that receive portions of alignment posts for ensuring vertical alignment between adjacent building elements or portions of building elements.

FOUNDATION INTEGRAL CONSTRUCTION COMPONENTS AND SUPPORT SYSTEMS

Foundation integral construction components and support systems where multiple pile foundation components are incorporated into a structure system that is connected to, or otherwise part of the foundation, can further reduce the need for excavation and thus preserve existing contours and drainage properties of the land. These multiple pile foundation systems, are applicable to a wide variety of site and soil conditions and a wide variety of surface structures or buildings. The multiple pile foundation system can reduce the need for site excavation, drainage control, and soil backfill by transferring load from a portion of a structure to the ground.
