FOUNDATION INTEGRAL CONSTRUCTION COMPONENTS AND SUPPORT SYSTEMS
Foundation integral construction components and support systems where multiple pile foundation components are incorporated into a structure system that is connected to, or otherwise part of the foundation, can further reduce the need for excavation and thus preserve existing contours and drainage properties of the land. These multiple pile foundation systems, are applicable to a wide variety of site and soil conditions and a wide variety of surface structures or buildings. The multiple pile foundation system can reduce the need for site excavation, drainage control, and soil backfill by transferring load from a portion of a structure to the ground.
Building elements for making retaining walls, and systems and methods of using same
A building element for coupling with other building elements to erect a retaining wall. Optionally, the building element can have a modular construction. The building element can have a face panel and a beam member that extends substantially perpendicularly relative to the face panel. The building elements can have a variety of different configurations, providing flexibility in the design of retaining walls. Optionally, each building element can define alignment voids that receive portions of alignment posts for ensuring vertical alignment between adjacent building elements or portions of building elements.
FRAME POSITIONING DEVICE FOR POSITIONING A FRAME OVER AN INLET OF A CATCH BASIN OR MANHOLE AND METHOD FOR POSITIONING THE SAME
A device for positioning a frame over a head of a catch basin or manhole, comprising: an elongated body extending between a first end and a second end, the elongated body having an adjustable length, the first end second ends of the elongated body being adapted to abut opposite sections of a top face of the head; and a first leveling member and a second leveling member each secured to the elongated member such that a distance between the first and second leveling members varies when the length of the elongated body varies, the first and second leveling members each comprising: a guide member extending from the elongated member; and a frame receiving member slidably and rotatably secured to the elongated member, the frame receiving member being configured for receiving and supporting a lower end of the frame in order to position and orient the frame relative to the head.
MANHOLE ELEMENT
The invention relates to a manhole element (a shaft element) (1) for forming at least a portion of a manhole structure (a shaft structure) (2), which manhole element is comprised of a base body (3) delimiting a hollow space; wherein at least one detection device (4), which is designed to detect and determine at least one detection variable, as well as an associated transmission device (5), which is designed to transmit the detection variables acquired by the detection device (4) to at least one communication partner, are integrated into the base body (3).
Erosion control apparatus
The present invention relates to an erosion control apparatus and methods of using and installing the apparatus. The apparatus is constructed to prevent erosion of soil during typical weather or tidal conditions and adverse weather events. The apparatus can include a plurality of anchored rolls and soil lifts operative to stabilize the shoreline.
Post-tension tube foundation and method of assembling same
A post-tensioned tube foundation for supporting a structure subject to high upset forces is described herein. The post-tensioned tube foundation includes an outer CMP, an inner CMP, and a tubular concrete base positioned between the inner CMP and the outer CMP. The outer CMP includes an inner surface that defines a cavity extending between a first open end and an opposite second open end. The outer CMP is positioned within an excavated hole defined along a ground surface. The inner CMP is positioned within the cavity of the outer CMP such that an annular space is defined between the inner CMP and the outer CMP. The tubular concrete base is positioned within the annular space defined between the inner CMP and the outer CMP. A plurality of bracing beams extend radially outwardly from the tubular concrete base.
Systems and Methods for Using Discarded Asphalt Shingles (DAS) for Fill Replacement and for Structural Members in Building and Surface Constructions
Systems and methods are provided for repurposing discarded asphalt shingles as fill material or structural members in building and land surface constructions. Discarded asphalt shingles (DAS) are placed beneath building foundation slabs and parking lots in overlapping patterns to replace a measured amount of removed soil to serve as fill material. Building block system (BBS) units or repurposed asphalt blocks (RAB), may be produced to facilitate handling and transport of the DAS materials to the construction site. DAS can be utilized beneath parking lots by layering the shingles in overlapping patterns to create a moisture barrier from water intrusion from above or below. Repurposed asphalt materials may further be used in the construction of other types of embankments and ground surface constructions to provide both vertical and horizontal support.
DEVICE FOR PROTECTING AGAINST THE SCOURING OF GRANULAR FILLINGS SUBMERGED IN GRAVITY STRUCTURES
A device for protecting against the scouring of granular fillings submerged in gravity structures in which a filling with granular materials must be deposited once the structures are submerged, so that the structures reach a weight sufficient to en sure the stability thereof against the actions to which they are subjected. The device consists of one or more porous covers that sit and/or are secured as an upper closure of the structure to protect the inner filling, each of the covers having a plurality of openings that are distributed on the surface thereof and have a size suitable to allow the passage of the filling material, which filling material is transferred to the inside of the structure simply by pouring until a height close to the cover is reached, leaving a margin or chamber between the two that is suitable for generating an internal turbulence that dissipates wave energy and incident currents, thereby making it difficult for the filling material to escape from the inside through the openings.
Structural tensioning system
A structural tensioning system for selective coupling to a pier pipe having an elongate threaded rod and a tensioning device. The tensioning device having an elongate body that is configured receive a treaded end of the threaded rod and defines a slot in a distal end portion, a pair of opposed co-axial elongate openings, and a pair of opposed passages that communicate between respective portions of the slot and respective portions of the pair of opposed co-axial elongate openings. A portion of each elongate opening is configured to receive a bolt that is mounted in the pier pipe when the tensioning device is positioned in a tensioning position and portions of the slot, the pair of opposed co-axial elongate openings and the pair of opposed passages are configured to selectively receive the bolt that is mounted in the pier pipe as the tensioning device is moved to the tensioning position.
Building Foundation and Soil Stabilization method and System
System and means soil stabilization and moisture control for building foundations including methods and systems for stabilization moisture in a site for building foundation by applying soil moisture stabilization material in various forms, a preferred stabilization material being a mixture of aluminosilicate Pozzolan mineral and granular material such as sand.
