Composite manhole cover with embedded detection
A composite manhole cover includes a body made of a polymer adapted to accommodate an embedded magnetic material embedded as well as function enhancing electronics.
Composite Manhole Cover with Embedded Detection
A composite manhole cover includes a body made of a polymer that has a mass of magnetic material embedded there within. The mass of magnetic material is detectable by a metal detector and, therefore, the composite manhole is locatable by the metal detector when the composite manhole cover is obscured by a material such as pavement, dirt, sand, grass/sod, etc.
Earth retention levee system
An earth retention levee system is disclosed which is constructed from spaced apart facing parallel walls of interlocking sheet piles (1, 2) said sheet piles having outside faces (5) and inside faces (4) formed with gridspines (10) along a longitudinal extent thereof, said gridspines (10) being connected to adjacent edges of geogrids (20) which link said parallel walls and stabilise fill (21) disposed therebetween.
Injectable tie back cover for waterproofing, apparatus, and a method of using same
The present invention relates generally to an injectable tie back cover for waterproofing, apparatus, and a method of using same. The invention encompasses a substantially domed shaped structure having at least one surface along the domed shaped structure, and having an edge flanged surface which is placed over a tieback head, and where the injectable tieback cover is used as a waterproofing apparatus. A supplemental injectable tubing can also be provided around the outside of the substantially domed shaped structure, which injectable tubing can be injected with a secondary waterproofing material to provide additional waterproofing to the area around the injectable tie back cover facing the concrete or shotcrete. The domed shaped structure can also have at least one dome channel to accommodate at least one injectable tieback cover tubing. The invention also provides a method of using the inventive injectable tie back cover for waterproofing structures.
Utility cover
A cover for an underground enclosure may include an upper surface comprising a pattern of bosses, a first slot and a second slot disposed on the upper surface, a lower surface opposite the upper surface. A first reinforcement member may be coupled to the lower surface. The first slot may extend into the first reinforcement member, and a second reinforcement member may be coupled to the lower surface and aligned with the first reinforcement member. The second slot may extend into the second reinforcement member. The cover may be configured to be lifted by the first slot and the second slot.
Biocementation systems and methods
The present disclosure provides a method of biocementation comprising contacting a granular, cohesionless soil with a solution, wherein the solution comprises urea, urease, a source of calcium ions, and a source of non-urease proteins, wherein the urea, urease, source of calcium ions, and source of non-urease proteins are provided in effective amounts suitable to cause crystallization of calcium carbonate.
GEOSYNTHETIC CLAY LINER WITH ELECTRICALLY CONDUCTIVE PROPERTIES
An electrically conductive geosynthetic clay liner incorporating an electrically conductive textile graphene.
HEIGHT ADJUSTABLE METER/DEVICE PIT
A height adjustable device pit (10) is provided for use in installing water meters (12) or other equipment below ground level. The device pit (10) includes a lower housing section (14), an upper housing section (16), and a lid (18). The lower housing section (14) and the upper housing section (16) are engaged with each other by mating screw threads (20) and (22) that are centered on a vertical, longitudinal axis (24). The housing sections (14,16) are movable relative to each other along the longitudinal axis (24) to adjust the vertical height of the device pit (10) in response to relative rotation of the housing sections (14) and (16) about the longitudinal axis (24).
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR REAL-TIME DISPLACEMENT CONTROL USING EXPANSIVE GROUTING TECHNIQUES
The present disclosure relates to a method for real-time compensation for ground movements which would otherwise adversely affect an existing built environment. Embodiments may include providing a plurality of holes in soil for the injection of a substance that expands as a consequence of a chemical reaction. The plurality of holes may be located between a source of movement and an asset to be protected. Embodiments may also include injecting, in at least one of the plurality of holes, the substance and monitoring, in real-time, at least one of movement of the soil or the asset to be protected. Real-time monitoring may occur during an activity that is causing the ground movements. Embodiments may further include obtaining real-time monitoring data, based upon, at least in part, the monitoring.
METHODS AND COMPOSITIONS FOR DUST AND SOIL EROSION CONTROL
A composition as described herein for treating an exposed area for dust control and soil erosion stabilization is provided, the composition comprising: (i) about 30 to about 80% dissolved biopolymer solution by volume; (ii) about 10 to about 20% dissolved carbohydrate solution by volume; (iii) about 0.02 to about 0.25% nonionic surfactant solution by volume; and (iv) water that makes up a remaining volume to 100% wherein the composition is effectively free from magnesium chloride and calcium chloride. In one aspect, the composition as described herein may be free, substantially free, or effectively free from oil-based and hydrophobic content. A method for using the composition to treat an exposed surface for dust control and soil erosion stabilization is also provided.
