Method of manufacturing erosion and sediment and pollution control products using rice hulls

A method of manufacturing an erosion, sediment and pollution control product comprises heat treating a rice hull filler material for sterilizing the rice hull filler material and increasing the pollutant affinity of the rice hull filler material; filling a tubular containment member with the rice hull filler material in a manner allowing fluid to flow through the containment member and the rice hull filler material. The containment member is a geotextile which may include cellulose based threads treated to be hydrophobic.

Tubular knitted geotextiles implementing hydrophobic cellulose based threads, methods of making the same, and erosion sediment and pollution control products made from the same

An erosion, sediment and pollution control product comprises a geotextile which includes cellulose based threads treated to be hydrophobic and cellulose based filler within the tubular geotextile. The geotextile may be knitted and may include lyocell threads and wherein the lyocell threads are treated to be hydrophobic, and are treated with food grade mineral oil. A method of making a tubular knitted geotextile comprises the steps of: supplying cellulose based threads to a circular knitting machine and knitting a tubular substrate, treating the cellulose based threads with one of mineral oil, beeswax, paraffin, petroleum jelly, lanolin, plant-based oils, and combinations thereof, whereby the threads are rendered hydrophobic.

In-situ reconstruction and extension structure of embankment and construction method thereof

An in-situ reconstruction and extension structure of an embankment and a construction method thereof are provided. The structure includes a stepped slope excavated on an existing side slope. A gradient of the stepped slope is the same as that of an extension side slope, the stepped slope is individually intersected with top and bottom planes of existing side slope; a toe of existing side slope is taken as a toe of the extension side slope, and gradient of the extension side slope is determined according to positions of the toe and an expanded width. An outer side of stepped slope is filled with a geogrid reinforcement layer in a layered manner, a slope protection structure is arranged on an outer side of the geogrid reinforcement layer to form extension equivalent side slope; a drainage system is arranged at a bottom of the extension side slope.

DRAINAGE ANTI-SLIDE PIPE PILE SUITABLE FOR OPEN CHANNEL PROJECT OF EXPANSIVE SOIL IN COLD AND ARID REGIONS AND CONSTRUCTION METHOD THEREOF

A drainage anti-slide pipe pile suitable for an open channel project of expansive soil in cold and arid regions and a construction method thereof are provided. The pipe pile includes a pile body, wherein the pile body is provided with a dewatering section and an embedded section arranged up and down, a wall of the dewatering section of the pile body is provided with a plurality of drainage channels for consolidation drainage; and the embedded section of the pile body is embedded in a solid rock stratum to provide an anti-slide effect. The drainage anti-slide pipe pile is more targeted at the expansive soil channel project in cold and arid regions, which can effectively control seepage water level behind a channel slope in an operational period, quickly reduces lagging dewatering level behind the slope in the initial stage of a shutdown period, and improves the stability of the entire slope.

Prefabricated vertical geotextile ditch check system

A ditch check system and methods for storm water control are provided. The ditch check system can include a velocity-restricting component of geotextile fabric with one or more porosities configured to control velocities of storm water flows for sediment control and silt retention. The velocity-restricting component can have one or more reinforcing elements to provide additional support against tearing and/or undue movement, as well as attachment points for fastening the fabric to support members. The ditch check system can further include a front water seal and a rear scour guard attached to the velocity-restricting component, and which are substantially impermeable to vertical water flow to inhibit ditch scouring and prevent the flow of storm water under the ditch check system. To facilitate transportation, installation, and assembly, one or more of the components of the ditch check system can be supplied as a pre-assembled package.
