A device measures the flow rate of a fluid, such as concrete, in a pumping plant connected to a drilling machine provided with a drilling tool. The pumping plant includes a motor pump and a connection pipe to lead fluid from the motor pump to the drilling tool. The device includes a transmitting module, for rigidly and removably mounted on the pumping plant and including an accelerometer and a receiving module, associated with the drilling machine. The transmitting module detects accelerations generated by vibrations of the pumping plant during the pumping of the fluid. The accelerations indicate flow rate of the fluid. The transmitting module wirelessly sends a signal, which is processed based on the detected accelerations, to the receiving module. The receiving module receives the signal from the transmitting module and sends a signal indicating the flow rate of the pumped fluid based on the received signal.

The monitor of the manhole cover includes a shell, a cover plate, and a base. The cover plate is detachably assembled with the shell. The base connects the shell with the manhole cover. The base includes a magnet to which the manhole cover is strongly attracted. The monitor is held to the manhole cover by the magnet. A mounting operation of the monitor is simple, requiring only placement by hand, and a mounting time is saved.

A remote sensing system and device is provided for monitoring a condition within an infrastructure network. In particular, the system and device are configured to monitor components of civil water infrastructure such as sewers, rainwater infrastructure, freshwater infrastructure, manholes, catch pits, sewers, or outlets etc. The device includes an antenna unit having an elongate hollow shaft depending therefrom, and a monitoring unit for housing electrical components including a sensor for detecting a parameter. The monitoring unit is removably mounted to the antenna unit via the shaft, and connected to a component of the infrastructure being monitored, for example manhole cover or lid. The antenna unit and monitoring unit are separate and individually water-tight structures, and the elongate hollow connection shaft makes an essentially rigid connection, while finding a passageway between antenna unit and monitoring unit.

Systems and methods are provided for performing site preparation work when building a single-axis tracker solar power plant. An installation and assembly machine is outfitted with a positioning system. At the time of installation, a reference laser is located at one end of an intended tracker row and is aligned positionally with an intended axis of rotation of the tracker (e.g., the tracker torque tube). The machine is moved to the first desired installation location based on the positioning information so that the laser beam impinges on a target on the machine. The distance between the laser and target is measured. A portion of the machine containing the target is moved with respect to the beam until the measured distance is equal to a predetermined distance. Once the correct distance is confirmed, the portion of the machine containing the target may be moved to confirm that the machine mast is oriented correctly in other axes including Y, Z and yaw.
