The water flow detector comprising a water header tank presence detection module for determining if a water header tank is present in a water system comprising a pipe. The water header tank presence detection module is configured to determine a plurality of pipe temperatures of the pipe, determine a plurality of ambient temperatures of the environment around the pipe, determine a plurality of temperature deltas, each of the temperature deltas based on a difference between a pipe temperature of the plurality of pipe temperatures pipe and a corresponding ambient temperature of the plurality of ambient temperatures, and detect a start of a period of non-usage of the water system, detect a flow of water in the pipe, analyse a rate of change of the plurality of temperature deltas, and output a tank indication to a leak detection module.
LEAK DETECTION FOR AIRCRAFT
Disclosed is a sensor system for retrofitting a water supply of an airplane to detect leakage. The system includes a housing having a first band with an inner diameter sized to receive a necked portion of a valve for consumer access to the water supply. The system includes a first transducer disposed on the first band operable to provide a position measurement corresponding to a relative position between a head of the valve and the necked portion. The system includes a second transducer operable to provide a pressure measurement corresponding to a pressure of a compressed gas in a water tank of the water supply. The system includes a controller having input channels operable to receive the position measurement and the pressure measurement. The controller is operable to indicate a leak condition.
Water network monitoring system
Embodiments are directed to a water network monitoring system for determining leakage from a network. The water network may comprise any of pipelines, aqueducts, reservoir dams, reservoir embankments and sewers. The present water network monitoring system employs Earth observation data, such as synthetic aperture radar (SAR) data and optical data, collected from a geographical region that includes the water network system of interest. This data is collected over successive time periods and analysed to detect any abnormal changes in the indicators within the area in the vicinity of the water network.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR MONITORING WATER FLOW
A method and system monitors waterflow through a plumbing fixture and generates waterflow monitoring data with a waterflow monitoring device. The method and system analyzes the waterflow monitoring data with a cloud-based waterflow analysis system. The waterflow analysis system outputs waterflow monitoring data to a computing device of a user of the waterflow analysis system.
SENSOR DEVICE, SENSOR DEVICE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM, AND SENSOR DEVICE MANAGEMENT METHOD
A processor 204 of a sensor device performs measurement processing by one or a plurality of sensors 203 and transmission processing of sensor data generated by the measurement processing. The sensor device includes a processing routine table 211 that stores a processing routine configured to include, corresponding to an identifier for identifying processing performed by a processor, a type of the processing, an execution trigger of the processing, and trigger information that prescribes a trigger for transmitting the sensor data. The processor controls processing in a processing routine of the processing routine table, based on trigger information, so that the sensor data subjected to measurement processing is immediately transmitted, or temporarily stored in a buffer 212 and transmitted after a predetermined time.
Leak Detection Method and Apparatus
A method for testing for a possible water leak in at least a part of a water system, comprising: closing all known water usage taps (42) within the part of the water system to be tested; closing at least one stop cock (14) or valve of the water system to isolate the part of the water system from its replacement water source (12) (or sources), and any external replacement pressure source (or sources); and then a) detecting a first pressure PO within the isolated part of the water system at a sensor (62, 48) connected to the part of the water system, waiting a period of time t and then detecting a second pressure within the isolated part of the water system at that sensor (62, 48); and b) releasing a volume of water VR from the water system out of the isolated part of the water system via a vent (42) in the isolated part of the water system, before then closing the vent (42), step b) further comprising detecting the pressures either side of that release at that sensor (62, 48); using the pressure drop caused by the approximately known or measured volume of water VR to enable an estimate of the relationship between change in pressure in the system and the volume of water released to be established, and based on the relationship between the change in pressure and the known release volume, calculating an estimate of the actual volume of the unknown water loss volume V.sub.L based upon the recorded pressure loss in the system in the known period of time t.
