In order to comply with the hygiene requirements for a potable water system and to enable efficient flushing, the flushing device according to the present invention is adapted to control the flushing process in a manner depending on the water pressure.

The present invention relates to a fluid handing device that can be attached to a water main or other fluid supply infrastructure. The device has a branched, hollow body containing a fluid passageway, that has a first end, a second end, a right arm member, a left arm member and a top member. The body also includes a male threaded nipple connected to a ball valve, and the nipple has a shutoff valve that allows a user to cut off flow from the nipple to the device. The second end of the body further has two arm members with hose adapters that allow hoses or other fluid conduits to be attached to the device, to allow water or other fluid to flow through the device and into a water main or fluid infrastructure for flushing, cleaning or treatment.

Drinking and service water system and method for flushing same

The present invention refers to a drinking and service water system with a connection (2) to the public water supply network, at least one supply line (4, 6) leading to at least one consumer (8), a flushing valve (10) downstream of the consumer (8) in the flow direction for draining water from the drinking and service water system, a control unit (12) connected to the flushing valve (10) in terms of control, and a first temperature sensor (18) upstream of the consumer (8) in the flow direction, the control unit (12) comprising a flushing module which determines flushing processes to the control unit (12) at specific times and/or at specific time intervals. This invention is intended to provide a drinking and service water system which, with an efficient flushing device, fulfills the hygienic requirements placed on a drinking water system. To solve the problem, a second temperature sensor (20) is arranged between the consumer (8) and the flushing valve (10) and the control unit (12) is arranged to decide whether the predetermined flushing operation is to be suspended or postponed on the basis of a temperature difference between a measured value of the first temperature sensor (18) and a measured value of the second temperature sensor (20). In a secondary aspect, the present invention provides a method for flushing such a system.

METHODS, SYSTEMS, AND APPARATUS FOR USE IN MAIN PIPES CONNECTED TO BRANCH CONDUIT

A pipe rehabilitation system and/or robot can be used inside a pipe to measure characteristics of branch conduits, install plugs into branch conduits before the pipe is lined with a liner, remove portions of plugs and liners after lining to restore fluid communication between the pipe and branch conduits, and/or install fittings into the branch conduits to connect the liner to the branch conduits. A probe can measure characteristics of a branch conduit. A tool can install plugs and/or fittings into the branch conduits. A linkage can connect a tool to a robotic tractor so that the connected elements can navigate through a main pipe. A visualization system can aid in aligning a robot with a branch conduit. Height-adjustable braces can support robotic tools in a pipe. A plug can include integrated locating features and/or movable parts that enable expanding the plug to seal with the branch conduit.

FLUID FLUSHING SYSTEM

A fluid flushing system includes a sampling port comprising a sampling conduit configured to dispense a sample of a fluid in the fluid routing assembly; a valve configurable in an open valve configuration, wherein the fluid is permitted to flow through the fluid flushing system, and a closed valve configuration, wherein the fluid is prohibited from flowing through the fluid flushing system; and a backflow preventer disposed between the sampling port and the valve, the backflow preventer configured to allow the fluid to flow in a first direction through the fluid flushing system towards the valve and to prevent the fluid from flowing in an opposite second direction through the fluid flushing system towards the sampling port.
