Optimizing hydrant selection for flow test of water distribution systems
10060835 · 2018-08-28 · ·

In one embodiment, a technique is provided for optimizing selection of hydrants for flow test in a water distribution system. An impact database is built that indicates whether a flow test at each hydrant in the water distribution system has an impact on each pipe of the water distribution system. When a user supplies a number of hydrants to be subject to flow test, a hydrant selection solver application may search for an optimized set of hydrants for flow test that includes the user-supplied number, the searching to include generating candidate sets of hydrants and evaluating the candidate sets of hydrants based on fitness values calculated using the impact database, each fitness value to evaluate performance of a candidate set of hydrants based on flow velocity or hydraulic gradient change in pipes.

DUAL SIZE VALVE BASE
20180238031 · 2018-08-23 ·

Disclosed is a dual size valve base that provides a fitted surface having indentations, protrusions and/or shaped surfaces that align with the lower surface of two different size valves, so that the valves fit within the valve base and do not rotate or otherwise move when secured to the valve base. The valve base has a sufficiently large platform to maintain a valve in a secure position underground on a support surface, so that the valve remains aligned with access pipes and access ports.

Hydrant assembly
20180230682 · 2018-08-16 ·

An apparatus includes a hydrant assembly 102 configured for use with a well casing 900, a pitless adapter 902, and a pump assembly 904. The hydrant assembly 102 includes a water spout assembly 104 configured to be positioned above the ground 906 and also above the well casing 900. A water pipe assembly 106 is configured to be in fluid communication with the pitless adapter 902, the pump assembly 904 and the water spout assembly 104. This is done in such a way that water flows from the pump assembly 904, past the pitless adapter 902 and toward the water spout assembly 104 once the pump assembly 904 is activated. A pipe-support assembly 108 is configured to be positioned relative to the well casing 900, the pitless adapter 902 and the pump assembly 904. The pipe-support assembly 108 is also configured to selectively spatially position and support, at least in part, the water pipe assembly 106 relative to the well casing 900, the pitless adapter 902 and the pump assembly 904 in such a way that the pipe-support assembly 108, in use, provides selective spatial positioning of the water pipe assembly 106 relative to site-installation conditions associated with the well casing 900, the pitless adapter 902 and the pump assembly 904, which are installed relative to the surface 905 of the ground 906.
