Preservation and reconstitution of cell-free protein expression systems
A method of preserving a cell-free protein expression system includes preserving a cell extract with a first non-reducing sugar alcohol to provide a preserved cell extract, preserving a reaction buffer with a second non-reducing sugar alcohol to provide a preserved reaction buffer, and preserving an energy source, so that the cell extract, the reaction buffer, and the energy source are preserved separately.

Pharmaceutical composition comprising bee venom-phospholipase A2 (bv-PLA2) for treating or preventing diseases related to degradation of abnormal regulatory T cell activity
The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition for treating or preventing a disease related to abnormal suppression of regulatory T cell activity comprising a polypeptide comprising a bee venom-PLA2 amino acid sequence exclusive of a leader sequence as an active ingredient. The secretory bee venom-phospholipase A2 of the present invention activates a regulatory T cell and suppress a differentiation of Th1/Th7. Therefore, the present polypeptide can be used as a pharmaceutical composition for treating or preventing a disease related to abnormal suppression of regulatory T cell activity, i.e. autoimmune diseases, allergic diseases, or neurodegenerative diseases.
Polyurethane biofoams derived from natural products and methods of making and using thereof
Described herein are polyurethane compositions based on natural materials, as well as methods for making and using the compositions. Also described herein are biofoams made from the polyurethane compositions. The biofoams described herein are resistant to degradation by acid and heat and are able to recover their original shapes after the application of pressure.
Food supplement for restoring male sex drive (libido)
A food supplement for restoring male sex drive (libido) comprises in a daily dose a set of L-arginine, rutin from pollen or beebread, decenic acids from drone brood, zinc from a zinc compound, and vitamin B.sub.6. It also comprises icariin from horny goat weed, saponins from true or false ginseng root, and ecdysteroids from Leuzea or crowned saw-wort, in various combinations thereof.

COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS OF USE
The present invention provides a composition comprising honey, a preservative and an aqueous carrier, wherein the honey is present in an amount in the range of from 2 to 50% w/w. Uses of the compositions of the invention for the management, treatment or prevention of a respiratory, ophthalmic, ear or vaginal condition in a subject, and for wound management are also described.
POLYPEPTIDES AND USES THEREOF
The invention relates to polypeptides, and in particular to polypeptides that are capable of inhibiting the activity or activation of the complement system. It also relates to nucleic acids that encode the polypeptides and to uses of the polypeptides.
The complement system helps or complements the ability of antibodies and phagocytic cells to clear pathogens from an organism. It forms part of the innate immune system. Down-regulation of complement activation has been demonstrated to be effective in treating several disease indications in animal models and in ex vivo studies. The present invention provides novel polypeptides that can be used for the treatment of diseases or disorders that relate to inappropriate activation of one or more of the complement pathways.
DENTAL BARRIER MEMBRANE USING COCOON AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING SAME
Disclosed herein are a cocoon-based, dental barrier membrane for guided bone regeneration and a method for manufacturing the same. The cocoon-based, dental barrier membrane is manufactured by dividing a cocoon into two or more fragments in a predetermined form, the cocoon having a shell having a first thickness. The dental barrier membrane is biocompatible, has excellent tensile strength and porosity, and promotes osteogenesis in a bone defect.
