An operation input device according to one embodiment includes: a display device that emits light to display information; an aerial image forming device that reflects the light from the display device a plurality of times to display a display plane with a switch in an air as a virtual image; a sensor that detects a position of a target object approaching the switch; and a determination unit that determines whether or not the switch has been operated, based on the position of the target object detected by the sensor. An eyepoint position where eyes of an operator that operates the switch are located is set in advance. The aerial image forming device is disposed on a straight line connecting the eyepoint position and the display plane.

Self cleaning toilet assembly and system

Toilet assemblies having various embodiments of a cleaning system are described herein which include a toilet assembly and a cleaning system. The toilet assembly has a toilet bowl, a toilet tank, a flush valve, a rim inlet port and a rim flow path (which may be an isolated rim path) extending from an outlet of the flush valve to the rim inlet port. The cleaning system has a reservoir for holding a liquid cleaning agent having an outlet port in fluid communication with the interior space of the reservoir body; a housing to receive the reservoir, a supply conduit in fluid communication with the interior of the reservoir; a flow control device capable of controlling flow through the supply conduit; and a control system activatable by an actuator feature, wherein upon activation of the actuator feature, the control system is adapted to initiate a clean cycle by: operating the flow control device for a first period of time sufficient to deliver a dose of a liquid cleaning agent from the supply conduit to an interior space of the flush valve in a closed position, the flush valve configured for delivery of fluid to the rim inlet port, and operating the flush valve to open the flush valve to introduce flush water to carry the dose of a liquid cleaning agent through the rim inlet port into the toilet bowl.

Toilet with waste location detection and removal

An analytical toilet is disclosed. The toilet is equipped to use energized flush water to clean excreta and other waste from the toilet. The toilet includes a bowl for receiving excreta from a user; at least one analytical device by which a sample of excreta is analyzed; a supply of flush water to be used to remove waste from a surface the of the toilet; an energizer to add energy to at least a portion of the to create energized flush water prior to its use in removing waste; and an orifice for directing a first jet of the energized flush water at the waste on the surface of the toilet. The disclosure also includes features to detect the location of waste in the toilet and selectively activate the energized flush water in order to clean the detected waste.

WATER-FLOW SENSING DEVICES AND METHODS OF SENSING AND STOPPING AN EXCESSIVE FLOW CONDITION

Devices and methods are provided for sensing and stopping an excessive water-flow condition in a water-using appliance such as a toilet. Such excessive water-flow conditions can occur, for example, when a leak or other malfunction is present in the appliance. The devices measure and monitor the time that elapses after the commencement of water flow to the appliance, and interrupt the water supply when the elapsed time reaches a predetermined value. Alternatively, the devices measure and monitor the cumulative volume of water that flows to the appliance after the commencement of water flow, and interrupt the water supply when the cumulative volume reaches a predetermined value.
