According to one embodiment, a toilet seat device includes a toilet seat, and a Doppler sensor using radio waves. An opened state of the toilet seat is sensed when approach of a user to the toilet seat is sensed based on a sensing signal outputted by the Doppler sensor. It is regarded that use is in progress for urination by the user when the toilet seat is in the opened state. In a state of being regarded that use is in progress for urination, a post-use operation is performed after sensing leaving of the user from the toilet seat based on the sensing signal.
Control of toilet bowl fill flow
Various systems and methods of controlling the flow of water from a fill valve in a toilet tank to a toilet bowl of a toilet using a bowl fill valve are provided. An inlet of the bowl fill valve is coupled to a bowl fill outlet of the fill valve and the outlet of the bowl fill valve is channeled to the toilet bowl. In illustrative embodiment, a method is provided comprising the steps of determining when the toilet tank has been substantially drained of water during a flush cycle, and opening the bowl fill valve for a predefined period of time after the toilet tank has been substantially drained of water to fill the toilet bowl of the toilet with water. The predefined period of time is less than a total time of the flush cycle.

LIGATURE-RESISTANT TOILET SYSTEM WITH ADAPTABLE SHROUD
A toilet system with a toilet base including a toilet bowl and a shroud for covering a plumbing riser located at a rear end of the toilet base that provides ligature-resistance for institutional applications. The shroud has a mating feature that joins with a corresponding feature at a rear portion of the toilet base to prevent formation of a gap between the base and a front of shroud in at least at a top side of the area of contact between the shroud and the back of the toilet base. The mating feature can be provided by forming a rectangular cross-section at the rear of the toilet base and providing a matching aperture through the shroud. A toilet seat, which may be bonded or bolted to toilet base has an outer edge that is chamfered to prevent ligature formation around a portion of toilet seat.
DUAL-BOWL TOILET
A toilet has a first bowl connected via internal passages to a water tank having a hand-operable valve, one or more remotely-operable spray openings, directed upward, and a connected passage to a sewer line, and a second bowl, rotatable and joined to the first bowl, and operable by a lever in a manner that the second bowl maintains an upright position, or an inverted position facing downward into the first bowl, Urine or feces in the second bowl at a time of moving the lever from the first position to the second position, as the second bowl is moved to the inverted position, is dropped into the first bowl, the second bowl, inverted, is spray-cleaned by operation of the spray openings, and the cleaned second bowl is returned to upright position by moving the lever back to the first position.
