A toilet training device utilizes a bowl-shaped base with a removable receptacle and an upright urinal back. The urinal back is in fluid communication with the receptacle. An aperture in the top exterior edge of the urinal enables fluid communication with a plurality of apertures disposed along an upper interior inside edge of the urinal. A pair of cup holders are disposed opposite the aperture in the top of the urinal.

Urine stowage system for spacecraft

A waste handling system includes a urinal having a urinal outlet and first and second urine storage containers. Each of the first and second urine storage containers includes a cavity having a bag. A distribution system fluidly interconnects the urinal to the first and second urine storage containers. The distribution system includes a switching system selectively fluidly connecting the urinal outlet to at least one of the first and second urinal storage containers in response to an input. The switching system includes a flow diverter valve. The input corresponds to a command signal to the flow diverter valve. The command signal commands the flow diverter valve between first and second positions. The first position corresponds to a fluid connection between the first urine storage container and the urinal while blocking a fluid connection between the second urine storage container and the urinal. The second position corresponds to a fluid connection between the second urine storage container and the urinal while blocking a fluid connection between the first urine storage container and the urinal. The switching system includes a plurality of switches configured to provide the command signal. A switch is arranged in each of the first and second urine storage containers. Each switch includes first and second contact elements biased apart from one another in a first condition corresponding to a first volume and electrically engages one another in a second condition corresponding to the second volume. A water processing unit is configured to produce potable water. The bag is configured to be coupled to the water processing unit by the quick disconnect to generate potable water from the urine.

Hybrid trap with water injection

A hybrid flushing system for water free urinals is presented with a housing having a wall portion forming a cavity for receiving a cartridge. The housing also includes a flushing fluid inlet portion for receiving a flushing fluid and a flushing fluid directing portion configured to direct the flushing fluid. A cartridge for installation into a housing is presented, including a cartridge wall, a flushing fluid receiving portion and a flushing fluid directing portion to direct flushing fluid received to any portion to clean areas of the housing, the cartridge, and connected plumbing. Steps for cleaning a hybrid flushing system are presented with an act of directing a flushing fluid into an area, where the area is one of a cartridge for a hybrid flushing system, a housing for a hybrid flushing system, and a plumbing system connected with the hybrid flushing system.

Liquids and viscoelastic material repellent and anti-biofouling coatings

A coated smooth surface of a substrate repels liquids and viscoelastic materials and can have anti-staining and anti-biofouling properties. The smooth surface can be coated by applying a chemical layer on the surface and a lubricant. Such coated surfaces are useful for use in toilets, urinals, or other devices for the processing of liquids and viscoelastic materials such as solid or semi-solid metabolic waste of human digestive system. Such coated surfaces can also be applied to windows for buildings or vehicles such as automobiles or camera lenses to repel liquids (e.g., rain), ice, frost, insect residues, and birds' feces.

A waterless urinal having a motion sensor that opens the drain valve. This sensor also turns on an internal venting fan that draws air from in front of the P trap, upwardly thru the fan, and downwardly to vent the air down the sewer after the P trap. The whole system can be operated by a solar-powered battery system making it well suited for use in off-grid locations, areas prone to drought or water shortage, mobile homes, rest stops, and stadiums.

METHOD FOR WATER SAVING BY RETROFITTING AN INSTITUTIONAL PLUMBING FIXTURE AND PLUMBING FIXTURE MADE BY SUCH METHOD
20210131080 · 2021-05-06 ·

Disclosed is a method for water saving by retrofitting an institutional plumbing fixture having a combination of an integral lavatory basin and a toilet bowel integrally attached thereto by inserting into the fixture a urinal-type collection receptacle having a water inlet opening on its top side and a water outlet opening on its bottom side; and fluidly interposing the receptacle via the inlet and outlet openings between the lavatory drain pipe and the drain trap provided for the plumbing fixture. Also disclosed is an institutional plumbing fixture retrofit for water saving, and a retrofit urinal-type receptacle.

Restroom System

A restroom system includes a sanitation station configured for hand washing and a waste station configured to receive a waste material from a user. A suds mixture is flowable through the sanitation station and the waste station and is configured for hand washing and to receive the waste material. The suds mixture includes a fluid layer and a suds layer positionable between the fluid layer and the user so that when the suds mixture receives the waste material the suds layer changes from an original shape to absorb energy and allow passage of the waste material through the suds layer into the fluid layer and then returns toward the original shape to form a protective barrier between the user and the waste material in the fluid layer.

RESILIENT FLUID CONTROL VALVE ABOVE DRAINAGE PLANE
20200325667 · 2020-10-15 ·

Described is a resilient fluid control valve assembly. The resilient fluid control valve assembly includes a cartridge housing having an upper portion and a lower portion. The upper portion is formed to reside above a drain opening, while the lower portion is formed to reside within the drain opening. The resilient fluid control valve assembly further includes a resilient fluid control valve positioned within the cartridge housing. The resilient fluid control valve has a valve body portion and a sealing portion.
