Systems and methods for insulating attic openings
09803416 · 2017-10-31 ·

A cover for closing an access opening that leads to an infrequently used space within a building, such as an attic, that generally provides an air seal, thermal insulation and/or acoustic insulation at the access opening. The cover may be in one or two portions, including a closure alone or a closure and a frame having an aperture that can be closed by engagement between the closure and the frame. When the cover is used alone it engages a frame or a wall circumscribing the access opening. The cover is sized and shaped to close a stairwell, or the opening at one end of a stairway, an opening in a generally vertical wall, a hatch, or a pull down ladder. The closure and frame are each made of one or more components.

AIR OUTLET FOR A VENTILATION DEVICE

Air outlet for a ventilation device, the ventilation device comprising at least an air outlet, an air supply means, and an air guiding device, wherein the air outlet includes a plate having air outlet openings, and wherein the air outlet is in the installed state foldably mounted to an interior paneling such that it can be folded out of the interior paneling to allow for accessing a space there-behind.

TRANSLUCENT CEILING OR WALL PANEL

A ceiling panel according to the present invention has opposed translucent membranes secured in a tensioned state across a perimeter frame. The frame includes frame members that are designed to oppose inward bowing of the perimeter frame caused by the tensioned membranes. The frame members have a side profile shaped to conceal a grid support network with the lower translucent member extending across and about a lower edge of the perimeter frame. The invention also includes a modified structure for supporting of translucent panels below a grid network.

Horizontal Room Partitioning Device

A horizontal room partitioning device for dividing a room horizontally includes a plurality of sectioning modules. Each sectioning module comprises a housing, configured to couple to a first wall, that has an open front. A panel is coupled at a first end to a back wall of the housing. The panel is extendable from and retractable into the housing through the open front. A first fastener is coupled to a second end of the panel. A second fastener that is complementary to the first fastener is configured to couple to a second wall opposite the housing. Each of a pair of guides extends between a respective opposing end of the housing and a respective opposing terminus of the second fastener. The sectioning modules are configured for planer installation within a room, such that an upper part of the room is reversibly separable from a lower part of the room.

Integral temperature responsive fire suppressant modular interior system
20170234003 · 2017-08-17 ·

A construction material consisting of a deployment system for a tire retardant substance, suitable for use in a wide variety of applications. This invention is designed to deploy a fire retardant substance in in response to the detection of an uncontrolled fire, thus minimizing or reducing risk of death, serious injury or property damage associated with uncontrolled fires when present in a habitable structure. The invention consists of a construction material which incorporates hinged or folding door(s) or flap(s) which contain a fire retardant substance within the construction material. When an uncontrolled fire is detected, the door(s) or flap(s) open and thus deploy the fire retardant substance onto the area affected by the uncontrolled fire.

AIRFRAME SYSTEM AND METHOD OF CONTROLLING AIRFLOW
20220202523 · 2022-06-30 ·

An air frame system includes a frame body defining one or more openings and a plurality of air passages along an inner periphery of the one or more openings. The air frame system further includes a light assembly removably coupled to the frame body outside an outer periphery of the one or more openings.

Asymmetrical Building Surface Baffles and Building Surface System
20220195717 · 2022-06-23 ·

The present disclosure relates generally to building surface baffles, for example, suitable for forming a room divider, a wall covering, an acoustical surface, or a ceiling surface. The present disclosure relates more particularly to a baffle for a building surface. The baffle includes an elongate body extending along an axis from a first end to a second end. The elongate body has a depth including a narrow portion that extends away from the axis along a first direction and a wide portion. The wide portion includes first and second projections that extend laterally outward from the first direction. The baffle also includes a first aperture extending into the first end of the elongate body along the axis and a second aperture extending into the second end of the elongate body along the axis.

OVERHEAD GRID ASSEMBLY, BRACKET MEMBER THEREOF, AND CEILING SYSTEM INCLUDING THE SAME
20220186494 · 2022-06-16 ·

An overhead grid assembly for a suspended ceiling system and a bracket member thereof. The overhead grid assembly may include first and second support members having first and second longitudinal axes that are arranged in an intersecting manner to form a grid. The bracket member may include a first part having a first channel and a second part having a second channel. The bracket member is arranged to maintain the first and second support members in a desirable orientation relative to each other. Thus, a portion of the first support member may nest within the first channel and a portion of the second support member may nest within the second channel. The first and second parts of the bracket assembly may be rotatable relative to one another to ensure that the bracket assembly can be coupled to the first and second support members regardless of their relative orientation.

Ceiling system having a plurality of different panels

A ceiling system is provided for use in a building space having a plurality of walls. The ceiling system includes a grid system that extends to at least two of the plurality of walls and separates the building space into an occupiable space below the grid system and a plenum space above the grid system; and a plurality of ceiling tiles that are supported by the grid system and, with the grid system, create a barrier between the occupiable space and the plenum space, the plurality of ceiling tiles including three different polygonal non-rectangular ceiling tiles.

CEILING FAÇADE SYSTEM

A ceiling façade system includes: a ceiling tile including an interior panel defining a first edge extending along a first side of the ceiling tile and a second edge extending along a second side of the ceiling tile opposite the first edge, a heating element, and an insulator layer arranged over the heating element opposite the interior panel; a first receiver extending along and configured to support the first side of the ceiling tile on a linear lighting track arranged on a ceiling structure and configured to locate the first edge of the interior panel adjacent and partially concealing the linear lighting track; and a second receiver extending along and configured to support the second side of the ceiling tile on a linear seam track arranged on the ceiling structure, the linear seam track laterally offset from the linear lighting track.
