Panel joiner systems and methods
11421726 · 2022-08-23 ·

A panel joiner system includes 2 sets of suction cups couple together through a linear guide to allow the sets of suction cups to move toward each other for joining panels along the edges. A movement mechanism is also coupled to the suction cups to convert a rotational movement to a linear movement of the suction cups. A surface alignment module is coupled to the linear guide to move between the suction cups for aligning the top surface of the panels. Compressible materials or ball bearings can be disposed between the section cups and the linear guide to allow the panel joiner to adjust the panel positions for joining.

FIRE-RATED STRUCTURAL OSB PANELS WITH OVERLAID WATER-RESISTANT BARRIER
20220098859 · 2022-03-31 ·

A wood or engineered wood structural panel, such as, but not limited to, OSB (“oriented strand board”) or plywood, that is both fire-resistant and water resistant. The panel is factory-coated with a product that provides fire resistance. The treatment gives it a Fire-Resistant (FR) performance (for use in a one- or two-hour rated assembly). The panel also is overlaid or coated in a factory setting with a weather/water resistive barrier (WRB). The structural panel thus combines a fire-resistant structural sheathing and WRB product in one integrated panel produced at a factory prior for installation at a job site.

SELF-SPACING LAP AND PANEL SIDING
20210246656 · 2021-08-12 ·

A lap siding or panel siding product with a unique shiplap joint that spaces abutting pieces of lap siding correctly from each other without measurements taken or needed by the installer. The shiplap joint comprises a bottom element and a top element, each extending from the respective piece of lap or panel siding. A set of “tabs” or “hook-tabs” is engineered on or adjacent to the underside of each joint element to space the pieces of lap or panel siding correctly, without requiring measurement during installation. The locations of the tabs or hook-tabs serve as a stop point for placement of the two pieces of lap or panel siding, allowing self-indexing. Post-installation, as the siding pieces expand or elongate length-wise or laterally, the two tabs or hook-tabs move away from each other, thereby allowing expansion and/or elongation without distortion or warping of the siding pieces.
