A method for decreasing the vapor permeability of a water and air barrier treated substrate that includes treating the substrate with a liquid applied, vapor permeable air and water barrier coating composition comprising a cross-linked polysiloxane dispersion composition.

MAT-FACED BOARD

Disclosed is an improved facer mat for use as a cover sheet for gypsum board. Also disclosed are gypsum boards containing such mat facers on one or both major surfaces of the board (face and back sides when installed), a method of manufacturing such board, and a method of making the mat. The mat can comprise glass, thermoplastic, and/or thermoset fiber. In preferred embodiments, binder is included with the fiber. The mat has outer and inner surfaces. The mat comprises a first region adjacent to the outer surface defined along a horizontal plane of the mat, the first region having a first substantial thickness, and a second region adjacent to the inner surface defined along a horizontal plane of the mat, the second region having a second substantial thickness. The first region has (a) more hydrophilicity than the second region, (b) more wettability than the second region, and/or (c) less density than the second region.

CONVERTIBLE FLOOR PANEL ASSEMBLY, COMPOSITE FLOOR STRUCTURE, AND METHOD FOR FILLING AN ORCHESTRA OPENING ADJACENT A THEATER STAGE
20170226761 · 2017-08-10 ·

A convertible floor panel assembly incorporates a metal wire mesh subfloor and a polymer deck overlying the wire mesh subfloor. A plurality of alignment heads project from an underside of the polymer deck, and are designed to extend through respective mesh openings defined by the wire mesh subfloor. A plurality of panel retainers engage respective alignment heads, and are adapted for removably attaching the wire mesh subfloor and the polymer deck together. The floor panel assembly is thereby convertible between a substantially open-surface sound permeable safety structure and a continuous solid-surface structure for increased floor load capacity.

FIRE RESISTANT COMPOSITE BOARDS AND METHODS

Embodiments of the invention provide roofing boards and roofing systems having improved fire resistance properties and methods related to the same. According to one aspect, a roofing system is provided. The roofing system includes roofing panels positioned atop structural support members to form a roof deck. Roofing boards are positioned atop the roof deck and coupled thereto and a roofing membrane is positioned atop the roofing boards and coupled therewith. The roofing boards include a coating of a mineral based material applied to one or more surfaces in an amount between the range of about 0.10 lbs/ft.sup.2 and about 0.70 lbs/ft.sup.2. The mineral based material coating enables the roofing boards to pass the UL 790 class A tests, such as the burning brand test.

BUILDING ASSEMBLY INCLUDING A WEATHER RESISTANT BARRIER, A SHEET FOR USE AS A WEATHER RESISTANT BARRIER, A LIQUID COATING COMPOSITION AND METHODS OF MAKING THE FOREGOING

A weather resistive barrier (WRB) for the exterior protection of building substrates can have a water vapor permeability that decreases with increasing temperature. In an embodiment, the WRB includes a coating comprising a LCST polymer, and may further include a second polymer. The WRB can be part of a building assembly, part of a sheet, or a sheet itself, the sheet having an air permeability of less than 0.02 L/(s m.sup.2) at a pressure of 75 Pa. Furthermore a liquid coating composition can include a LCST polymer and a second polymer, wherein the liquid coating composition can be adapted that a solid coating formed by the liquid coating composition has an air permeability of less than 0.02 L/(s m.sup.2) at a pressure of 75 Pa and a water vapor permeability that decreases with increasing temperature.

MASONRY REINFORCEMENT STRUCTURE COMPRISING PARALLEL CORDS

A masonry reinforced with at least one bed joint masonry reinforcement structure. The bed joint reinforcement structure includes at least two cords, which have metal filaments that are twisted together. The cords are oriented parallel or substantially parallel in the length direction of the masonry reinforcement structure.

MANUFACTURING TONGUE-AND-GROOVE PANEL FOR IMPROVED INTERPANEL FIT

A building-construction panel (e.g., a structural wood subflooring panel) includes a tongue on one edge and a groove on an opposite edge that receives the tongue of an adjacent panel. A shoulder on the tongue-side edge defines an abutted surface that is contacted by an abutting surface on the groove-side edge to limit panel travel during installation and maintain a gap between upper edge portions of the adjacent panels. A bottom transition is formed on the groove-side edge so that the groove-side abutting surface is smaller than the tongue-side shoulder abutted surface. In this way, the relatively smaller groove-side abutting surface structurally maintains the gap but also minimizes frictional interpanel contact area to minimize squeaking. And the relatively larger tongue-side shoulder abutted surface helps keep the shoulder from being collapsed into the groove from overdriving the panels together during installation. Also disclosed are methods of manufacturing the panels.
