SHINGLE SEALING ARRANGEMENTS
An exemplary shingle includes at least one coated shingle sheet defining a headlap portion and a tab portion each having opposed upper and lower surfaces. A first line of adhesive is adhered to one of the upper surface of the headlap portion and the lower surface of the tab portion, and includes a first thermally activated adhesive material. A second line of adhesive is adhered to one of the upper surface of the headlap portion and the lower surface of the tab portion, and includes a second thermally activated adhesive material having a minimum activation temperature less than a minimum activation temperature of the first thermally activated adhesive material.

A seal includes an elongated body having a first end and a second end, an interior surface and an exterior surface, and a hole extending from the first end to the second end. The hole defines the interior surface of the body. The seal further includes a first flange disposed adjacent the hole on the first end of the body and a second flange disposed adjacent the hole on the second end of the body.

A seal assembly for arrangement between a first and a second photovoltaic panel is disclosed. The first and the second photovoltaic panel each includes an upper layer and a lower layer, wherein the upper layer is offset with respect to the lower layer at first and second side edges, such that the upper layer of the first photovoltaic panel at its second side edge partially overlaps the lower layer of the second photovoltaic panel at its first side edge. The seal assembly include an upper abutment part, a lower abutment part, and an intermediate part connecting the upper abutment part with the lower abutment part and configured for being arranged between the upper layer of the first photovoltaic panel and the lower layer of the second photovoltaic panel. Also, arrays of solar panels and roof structures including such seal assemblies are disclosed.
Roofing Systems With Improved Wind Performance of Roofing Tiles and Methods of Installing Thereof
This invention, in embodiments, relates to a roofing system comprising (a) a roofing substrate having a roofing surface, (b) a first roofing tile overlying the roofing surface, the first roofing tile having a front surface, a back surface, a top edge, and a bottom edge, and (c) a second roofing tile overlying the first roofing tile, the second roofing tile having a front surface, a back surface, a top edge, and a bottom edge. At least one sealant line is applied to (i) the back surface of the second roofing tile in an area that overlays the first roofing tile, (ii) the front surface of the first roofing tile in an area in which the second roofing tile overlays the first roofing tile, or (iii) both (i) and (ii). The at least one sealant line is configured to adhere the second roofing tile to the first roofing tile.
Roofing Systems With Improved Wind Performance of Roofing Tiles and Methods of Installing Thereof
This invention, in embodiments, relates to a roofing system comprising (a) a roofing substrate having a roofing surface, (b) a first roofing tile overlying the roofing surface, the first roofing tile having a front surface, a back surface, a top edge, and a bottom edge, and (c) a second roofing tile overlying the first roofing tile, the second roofing tile having a front surface, a back surface, a top edge, and a bottom edge. At least one sealant line is applied to (i) the back surface of the second roofing tile in an area that overlays the first roofing tile, (ii) the front surface of the first roofing tile in an area in which the second roofing tile overlays the first roofing tile, or (iii) both (i) and (ii). The at least one sealant line is configured to adhere the second roofing tile to the first roofing tile.
WATERSHEDDING FEATURES FOR ROOFING SHINGLES
A system includes a plurality of roofing shingles installed on a roof deck. Each of the roofing shingles includes first and second ends, first and second edges, a head lap, a reveal portion, a first side lap at the first end, and a second side lap at the second end. The second side lap includes a first surface, which has an adhesive. The first side lap of a first one of the roofing shingles overlays and is attached to the second side lap of a second one of the roofing shingles to form a sealed portion between the head lap of the first one of the roofing shingles and the head lap of the second one of the roofing shingles.
Roofing shingle system and shingles for use therein
Roofing shingles are disclosed that are capable of self-adhering to a roof deck or underlayment and/or other roofing shingles and that require few or no mechanical fasteners to remain attached to the roof. By appropriate positioning of sealant lines on the shingle, direct adhesion between the shingle and the roof deck or underlayment and/or other roofing shingles can be achieved. If the shingle is laminated, the layers may be mechanically attached with indentations in the common bond area. The nail zone of the shingle may be visually indicated with fines and/or one or more paint lines. A roofing system comprising a plurality of courses of the shingles is also disclosed.
Special Liquid Applied Hail and Rain Protection Process for commercial roofing as both hail damage resistance and Ultraviolet Ray protection
A liquid applied hail and rain protection roofing material for commercial applications and the process for applying the commercial roofing materials. This is an elastomeric material which is embedded with fiberglass and/or granules of stone-like rubber rock to provide for strength and to resist the hail. An Ultraviolet Ray protection can also be applied. The materials utilized increase the utility as a roofing membrane by making it more elastic and by resulting in greater flexibility at low temperatures and in greater heat resistance at high temperatures. This flexibility prevents softening/flow and deformation from mechanical forces, such as those associated with maintenance personnel walking on the roofing membrane. A roofing membrane may be formed of the material as a laminate of a plurality of types of modified layers at the worksite pre-made as panels then installed at the worksite.
