Shingle sealing arrangements
An exemplary shingle includes at least one coated shingle sheet defining a headlap portion and a tab portion each having opposed upper and lower surfaces. A first line of adhesive is adhered to one of the upper surface of the headlap portion and the lower surface of the tab portion, and includes a first thermally activated adhesive material. A second line of adhesive is adhered to one of the upper surface of the headlap portion and the lower surface of the tab portion, and includes a second thermally activated adhesive material having a minimum activation temperature less than a minimum activation temperature of the first thermally activated adhesive material.
ROOF MOUNTING SYSTEM
The present invention relates to a roof mounting system with a locating and waterproofing device (100) which is formed from a water impermeable medium. The device has a short edge (104) which is dimensioned to rest against and be secured to a batten (121) and a long edge (106), whose upper portion rests on an upper surface of the batten (121). A lower portion of the locating and waterproofing device rests on a lower slate or stone (10A) and is sandwiched between the lower slate or stone (10A) and an upper slate or stone (10B) so that a continuous barrier (102) is formed along the long edge (106) to provide a water resistant barrier and to create a void (116) between the lower slate or stone (10A) and the upper slate or stone (10B).
ROOFING SYSTEM AND ASSOCIATED ROOFING SHINGLE
Roofing shingles are disclosed that are capable of self-adhering to a roof deck or underlayment and/or other roofing shingles and that require few or no mechanical fasteners to remain attached to the roof. By appropriate positioning of sealant lines on the shingle, direct adhesion between the shingle and the roof deck or underlayment and/or other roofing shingles can be achieved. If the shingle is laminated, the layers may be mechanically attached with indentations in the common bond area. The nail zone of the shingle may be visually indicated with fines and/or one or more paint lines. A roofing system comprising a plurality of courses of the shingles is also disclosed.
WATERSHEDDING FEATURES FOR ROOFING SHINGLES
A system includes a plurality of roofing shingles installed on a roof deck. Each of the roofing shingles includes first and second ends, first and second edges, a head lap, a reveal portion, a first side lap at the first end, and a second side lap at the second end. The second side lap includes a first surface, which has an adhesive. The first side lap of a first one of the roofing shingles overlays and is attached to the second side lap of a second one of the roofing shingles to form a sealed portion between the head lap of the first one of the roofing shingles and the head lap of the second one of the roofing shingles.
Roofing Shingle System and Shingles for Use Therein
Roofing shingles are disclosed that are capable of self-adhering to a roof deck or underlayment and/or other roofing shingles and that require few or no mechanical fasteners to remain attached to the roof. By appropriate positioning of sealant lines on the shingle, direct adhesion between the shingle and the roof deck or underlayment and/or other roofing shingles can be achieved. A ridge or hip member for a roof comprising a substantially flexible zone and a substantially rigid zone on each side of the flexible zone. The flexible zone adapted to allow the member to be bent by an installer by hand to conform the member to the ridge or hip of a roof, with the flexible zone located along a ridge or hip line of the roof. Each rigid zone being located on each side of the ridge or hip line.
Adhesive assembled ridge vent
A venting device of a structure is provided that includes elongate first and second panel sections. The elongate first panel section includes a top panel portion and a base panel portion located opposite the top panel portion. The elongate second panel section includes a top panel portion and a base panel portion located opposite the top panel portion. A bottom surface of the base panel portion of the elongate first panel section faces a top surface of the top panel portion of the elongate second panel section. A polyurethane reactive (PUR) adhesive is located between the bottom surface of the base panel portion of the elongate first panel section and the top surface of the top panel portion of the elongate second panel section which holds the bottom surface of the base panel portion of the elongate first panel section and the top surface of the top panel portion of the elongate second panel section together.
Adhesive assembled ridge vent
A venting device of a structure is provided that includes elongate first and second panel sections. The elongate first panel section includes a top panel portion and a base panel portion located opposite the top panel portion. The elongate second panel section includes a top panel portion and a base panel portion located opposite the top panel portion. A bottom surface of the base panel portion of the elongate first panel section faces a top surface of the top panel portion of the elongate second panel section. A polyurethane reactive (PUR) adhesive is located between the bottom surface of the base panel portion of the elongate first panel section and the top surface of the top panel portion of the elongate second panel section which holds the bottom surface of the base panel portion of the elongate first panel section and the top surface of the top panel portion of the elongate second panel section together.
A SYSTEM FOR MOUNTING GLASS ROOF TILES ON A ROOF CONSTRUCTION
A system for mounting glass roof tiles on a roof construction includes a roof batten, an S-shaped bracket defining a first U-shaped portion and a second U-shaped portion, a sealing plate and two glass roof tiles arranged side by side along a first longitudinal direction defined by the roof batten. The first U-shaped portion of the bracket is clamped onto the roof batten and retained in relation thereto solely by means of friction and gravity. An end portion of the sealing plate and a lower end portion of each of the glass roof tiles are snugly fit into the second U-shaped portion of the bracket. The glass roof tiles can be mounted on the roof construction in an easy and fast manner without the use of fastening means or tools.
