Rigid foam-core construction underlayment is formed to have one broad side covered by a flexible substrate that carries a series of spaced-apart, discrete regions (such as islands or spaced lanes) of resin, each resin region carrying a respective field of male touch fastener elements extending away from the substrate and exposed for engagement, such as by fibers on an inner surface of exterior construction material, such as a roofing membrane.

A mounting device for covering a roof penetration in a roof includes a base formed from a sheet of material. The base includes a top, a bottom, a socket depending from the top toward the bottom, and an outer perimeter structure encircling the socket and depending downward from the top to the bottom. An internal reservoir is defined between the top and bottom of the base for holding a sealant against and in cooperation with the roof. The internal reservoir includes an upper cavity and a lower cavity. The upper cavity is bound within the socket. The lower cavity continuously encircles the socket and extends both below the socket and between the socket and the outer perimeter structure.

A self-sealing fastener for installation of roofing materials for creating a substantially watertight seal around fastener penetrations where roofing materials or panels are affixed to an underlying roof deck by the fasteners. Also disclosed is a method for installing the self-sealing fastener for attachment of roofing materials to an underlying roof deck with the penetrations areas or holes created by the fasteners being substantially sealed against water penetration.

A method is provided for forming an adhered membrane roof system that meets Factory Mutual (FM) 4470/4474 standards for wind uplift. The method comprises applying a bond adhesive to a substrate on a roof to form an adhesive layer and applying a membrane directly to the adhesive layer. The bond adhesive includes a moisture-curable polymer.

A low-VOC, two-component polyurethane adhesive is provided. The polyurethane adhesive has an A-side that includes an isocyanate and a non-reactive plasticizer, and a B-side that includes an aliphatic polyester polyol, a non-polyester polyol, and a urethane catalyst. The A-side and the B-side are reacted at a volume ratio of 1:1 and formulated at an NCO/OH index within the range of 0.90 to 1.10. The polyurethane adhesive is solvent-free and is particularly suitable for adhering a polymeric membrane to a substrate.

A hand tool has a plurality of similarly or identically shaped rollers aligned end-to-end along an axle such that the outer surface of each respective roller moves about an axis define by the axle. The hand tool may be a roofing roller tool that enables an impermeable vapor membrane or sheet to be applied to a vertical wall extending upwardly from an outer perimeter of a roof. The tool may be manipulated by an elongated pole handle coupled to a roller head or roller head frame.

A sloping compound and method for using the sloping compound on building surfaces and/or ground surfaces to limit or prevent ponding of liquids on such surfaces. The sloping compound is formed of a binder and one or more different filler materials.

Adhesive compositions are described that are suitable for securing building materials, such as TPO membrane roofing to a structural element, such as a roof deck. The adhesive compositions are very high-solids, wet-set adhesives that provide a peel strength that meets or exceeds industry standards, while requiring application to only one of two surfaces to be joined. The adhesive compositions comprise a liquid modifier with hydroxyl functionality, a chlorinated polyolefin and a silylated polymer. Methods of use are also disclosed.
