Vapor-permeable, substantially water-impermeable multilayer article
This disclosure relates to an article that includes a nonwoven substrate, a first film supported by the nonwoven substrate, and a second film such that the first film is between the nonwoven substrate and the second film. The first film includes a first polymer and a pore-forming filler. The difference between a surface energy of the first film and a surface energy of the nonwoven substrate is at most about 10 mN/m. The second film includes a second polymer capable of absorbing and desorbing moisture and providing a barrier to aqueous fluids.
Sealed fastener cap and related method of manufacture
A fastener cap system can include a rigid cap and a sealing member which forms a liquid barrier so moisture is impaired from entering a space under the rigid cap and/or around a fastener installed through it. The sealing member can include a central seal disposed on an upper surface of the cap, the seal extending beyond a head of a fastener, which extends through the cap and sealing member, so that moisture is impaired from entering the cap under the head. The sealing member can be above and below respective lowermost and uppermost cap surfaces so the cap system can be fed cleanly and efficiently through a cap feeder during installation via a tool. The sealing member, which can have a higher coefficient of friction than the rigid cap, thereby does not drag along a cap feeder and cause feeding issues. Related methods of manufacture and use are provided.
PERMEABLE WATER RESISTIVE ROOF UNDERLAYMENT
The present invention relates to a water resistant, UV resistant, vapor permeable, air barrier roofing underlayment assembly for use on flat or low sloped roofs comprising a substrate of permeable polyester, a permeable copolymer acrylate coating bonded to the permeable polyester substrate and a pressure sensitive permeable copolymer adhesive secured to the acrylate coating. The permeable coating is a copolymer including a primary polymer of n-butyl acrylate and contains carbon black.
PERMEABLE WATER-RESISTIVE SLOPED ROOF UNDERLAYMENT/AIR BARRIER
The present invention relates to a water resistant, UV resistant, vapor permeable, air barrier roofing underlayment assembly for use on sloped roofs comprising a substrate of permeable polyester, a permeable copolymer acrylate coating bonded to the permeable polyester substrate and a pressure sensitive permeable copolymer adhesive secured to the permeable acrylate coating.
Roofing material with patterned adhesive
Some embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a roofing system. In some embodiments, the roofing system includes a first roofing material, wherein the first roofing material comprises a top surface and a bottom surface. In some embodiments, the top surface of the first roofing material comprises a nail zone with a plurality of fines. In some embodiments, the roofing system includes a second roofing material, wherein the second roofing material comprises a top surface and a bottom surface. In some embodiments, the bottom surface of the second roofing material comprises a plurality of fines. In some embodiments, the roofing system comprises and a patterned adhesive, which directly contacts at least a portion of the plurality of fines in the nail zone and at least a portion of the plurality of fines on the bottom surface of the second roofing material.
SHEET MATERIAL FOR ROOFING WITH WATER-BASED ADHESIVE BACK COATING
A sheet material for roofing to be installed on a roof under an overlayment comprising a closed-weave woven having a top side and a back side; a thermoplastic layer affixed on the top side; and a water-based adhesive coating affixed on the back side. The sheet material is manufactured as a roll in which the thermoplastic layer isolates the water-based adhesive coating from an immediate environment when the sheet material is in a roll form.
METHOD FOR ASSEMBLING A WEATHER-PROTECTING ROOF TRUSS AND A WEATHER-PROTECTING ROOF TRUSS BUNDLE
Disclosed is a method for the installation of a roof truss on an upper part of a building. A roof truss package includes multiple trusses spaced from each other to be mounted on top of upper runners on the building's opposite walls. The method includes using a prefabricated roof truss package in which the individual trusses are disposed side by side in a bundle, with weather protection present in a pleated condition on top of the bundle. The bundle is unfolded at construction site in such a way that the adjacent trusses become locked at a certain distance from each other by brace members included in the trusses and at the same time the weather protection unfolds to cover the trusses and the intervening space. Finally, the individual trusses are fastened to the upper runners. Also disclosed is a prefabricated roof truss package which is provided with a weather protection.
ASPHALTIC SHEET MATERIALS INCLUDING EXPANDABLE GRAPHITE
A method for producing an asphaltic sheet, the method comprising of providing an asphaltic sheet; and applying expandable graphite particles to the asphaltic sheet.
Roof and wall cover system
A covering of a damaged or uncompleted building; the covering including a film of heat shrinkable material stretched over damaged or uncompleted portions of the building; the film formed as a sheet comprising an assembly of lengths of the heat shrinkable material applied to surfaces of the building.
Silicone-Containing Roof Assemblies and Methods for Production and Use
An underlayment material has a fiber mat partially infused and/or coated with asphalt and coated with silicone coating. A selvedge edge, may be coated or uncoated. The back of the underlayment has a self-adhesive coating, which is protected before use by a siliconized release film. The upper surface of the underlayment is coated with silicone composition providing waterproofing and radiation control. When unsaturated, the selvedge edge of fibrous material establishes a reinforced bond with an overlying sheet. When saturated with asphalt, the bond at the selvedge edge between adjacent sheets is between the asphalt layer of the selvedge edge and the adhesive on the bottom of the adjacent sheet.
