Notched polymer roofing batten with measured detachable sections
09745753 · 2017-08-29 · ·

A notched plastic roofing batten with a pair of side walls having V-shaped notches at regular intervals therealong such that measured sections of the batten can be removed to achieve a desired overall length in the field by manually cutting or breaking the batten at one of the V-shaped notches.

BUILDING INTEGRATED PHOTOVOLTAIC ROOFING ASSEMBLIES AND ASSOCIATED SYSTEMS AND METHODS

Building integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) systems provide for solar panel arrays that can be aesthetically pleasing and appear seamless to an observer. BIPV systems can be incorporated as part of roof surfaces as built into the structure of the roof, flush or forming a substantively uniform plane with roof panels or other panels mimicking a solar panel appearance. Pans supporting BIPV solar panels can be coupled by standing seams, in both lateral and longitudinal directions, to other photovoltaic-supporting pans or pans supporting non-photovoltaic structures, having both functional and aesthetic advantages. In some configurations, adjacent photovoltaic modules may be oriented so that a boundary between an up-roof photovoltaic module and a down-roof photovoltaic module is not noticeable by observers positioned at typical viewing angles of the roof.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR INSTALLING ROOFING SHINGLES
20220307262 · 2022-09-29 ·

A method and apparatus for installing roofing shingles on a roof deck in a top-to-bottom manner is disclosed. Engineered battens am positioned and installed on the roof deck in a bottom-to-top manner. Each batten has a female mating area which allows complementary shingles to be securely attached to the battens by sliding a corresponding mating portion of a shingle into the mating area of the batten resulting in a snap-fit engagement which secures the shingles onto the roof deck without nails. The method and apparatus have several unique advantages, such as allowing shingles to expand and contract (“breathe”) without buckling and/or tearing when the ambient temperature fluctuates. In addition, since the manner of installation is from top-to-bottom, this allows roofers to use the rows of nailed battens as safety scaffolding improving roofers' traction and ultimately enhancing their safety while performing this inherently dangerous job.

Tile and support structure

In one aspect of a tile and support structure, a support structure may be engaged with a top portion of a pedestal. The support structure may be formed with a generally vertical spine having at least one rail extending outward from a distal end thereof. The spine and rail(s) may be configured to secure one or more tiles, which tiles may be formed with a groove on at least one edge thereof, and wherein one or more rails may be positioned within the groove.

A roofing assembly, comprising: a membrane; a plurality of cords, attached in a spaced-apart configuration to the flexible membrane and extending in a first direction; a plurality of battens, attached in a spaced-apart configuration to the plurality of cords and extending in a second direction that is orthogonal or substantially orthogonal to the first direction, each of the battens being attached to at least one of the plurality of cords; wherein a first set of the battens is offset at least one end in the second direction from a second set of the battens.

Tile and support structure

In one embodiment of a tile and support structure, the tile and support structure may be configured to engage a tile such that the tile is oriented in a generally vertical plane. The support structure may include a riser tile engaged with both an upper riser support structure and a lower riser support structure.

Rolled Roof Standing Seam System and Method of Construction

The present disclosure relates generally to roofing structures, for example, suitable for covering houses and other structures. The present disclosure relates more particularly to a roofing structure including a decking layer, a base layer, a cap layer, and a plurality of rails disposed over the cap layer. The base layer includes a plurality of strips that form seams including a first base layer seam. The cap layer also includes a plurality of strips that form seams including a first cap layer seam that is spaced from the first base layer seam. The rails include a first rail that is aligned with the first base layer seam and a second rail that is aligned with the first cap layer seam.

A roofing system includes a roofing panel, the roofing panel having a main body extending from a first side to a second side and from a top end to a bottom end, the roofing panel further having a first lip extending upward and away from the top end; and a second lip extending downward from the bottom end; a support having a body in the shape of a wedge, the body extending from a bottom to a top, the bottom has a thickness greater than the top; a roof structure; the support is positioned between the roof structure and the roofing panel; the bottom of the support aligns with the second lip of the roofing panel; and the support extends partially along a width of the roofing panel.

Metal roofing system

A retrofit roofing system with a roof furring having a substantially flat top and L-shaped side with openings that correspond to the raised portions of the existing metal roof panels, at least two fasteners that penetrate the L-shaped side through the existing metal roof panels and into the at least one roof perlins, a layer of adhesive on the substantially flat top portion of the roof furring; and at least one new metal roof panel on top of the layer of adhesive. There is also a new roofing system having at least two roof perlins with a bottom portion attached to a roof deck by fasteners and a top portion, a layer of adhesive attached to the top portion of the at least two roof perlins and a metal roofing panel on top of the layer of adhesive attached to the top portion of the at least two roof perlins.
