FILTRATION DEVICE WITH ION DISPERSING MATERIAL
A filtration device for filtering a fluid includes a first barrier member having a plurality of openings through which the fluid can penetrate the first barrier member, the first barrier member having a plurality of edges including a first edge; and a first ion-dispersing thread in the first barrier member. A portion of the first ion-dispersing thread extends in a direction, the direction is non-parallel to the first edge of the first barrier member, and the direction is non-perpendicular to the first edge of the first barrier member.
Apparatus and method for moss remediation
An apparatus for mold remediation on a building roof. A porous, stretchable tube includes two opposing folding end elements. Many mold remediation particles are contained within the tube. The porous, stretchable tube is made of a weather resistant material having multiple material openings so as to allow moisture to penetrate to the mold remediation particles while being sized smaller than the mold remediation particles so as to retain them in the tube.

Biocidal roofing granules, roofing products including such granules, and process for preparing same
Biocidal roofing granules are prepared by providing a mineral core and at least one biocidal photocatalytic metal oxide. A gel-forming inorganic coating medium is prepared and used to coat the mineral core to form a coating layer having a porous network on the mineral core, and the at least one biocidal photocatalytic metal oxide is disposed in the porous network.
Roofing products with zones of algae-resistant granules and method of manufacture
The present disclosure relates generally to roofing products, for example, suitable for use covering and protecting the roofs of structures. The present disclosure relates more particularly to a roofing product including an upper section and an exposed section. The roofing product includes a substrate having a top surface and a bottom surface, and a plurality of zones of roofing granules disposed on the top surface of the substrate. The plurality of zones includes first, second and third zones within the exposed section. The first zone includes a first collection of algae-resistant roofing granules and has a first algae-resistance intensity. The second zone includes a second collection of algae-resistant roofing granules and has a second algae-resistance intensity. The third zone has a third algae-resistance intensity that is different from the first algae-resistance intensity.
MICROBIAL GROWTH AND DUST RETARDANT ROOFING SHINGLES
A microbial growth and dust retardant roofing shingle comprising a substrate and a pore filling composition applied on the surface of the substrate is disclosed. The pore filling composition comprises of a silane or acrylic composition. A method of protecting a substrate from microbial growth and soiling using the pore filling composition of the present disclosure is also disclosed.
Filtering mesh with growth inhibiting material
A filtration device is provided for filtering a liquid that passes over the filtration device. The device includes a screen through which the liquid can pass, the screen having a top side, a bottom side, and a plurality of threads, at least a portion of the plurality of threads being a first material; and a growth inhibiting element that is one of attached to and a part of the screen, the growth inhibiting element being a second material. The second material and the first material are different materials.
Roof Growth Inhibiting Metal Strip
Antigrowth roofing strips made of a metal which release antigrowth ions into rainwater runoff from the roof which are formed with nailing hole sets insuring covering of nail heads with shingles. The strips also are formed with variously bent up or down tabs enabling securement to roofing tiles.
CHEMICAL COMPOSITION AND METHOD FOR MICROBIAL INHIBITING
The present disclosure is method for treating an asphalt roof using the following steps: (1) clearing debris from the roof; applying fused alpha alumina containing aluminum oxide to cyanobacteria stains; and (3) evenly distribute fused alpha alumina on the cyanobacteria stains such that when it rains, dead cyanobacteria molecules are washed away.
Antimicrobial delivery system for roof coverings
The disclosed principles provide a roofing product and related methods of manufacturing having antimicrobial properties. The antimicrobial properties are provided by an antimicrobial delivery system including antimicrobial materials compounded, e.g., mixed together and melted, with polymeric materials. The antimicrobial delivery system is applied to roof covering material during the production process. The roof covering material may be sheets, shingles, panels, or roll stock.
