The present invention is directed roof edge seal and barrier devices and their method of manufacture. A method of manufacturing a comb-like sealing strip for use as a roof edge seal or barrier comprises stamping or cutting an elongate strip of material along a sinuous path located between the edges of the strip and then separating the strip into two portions, each of which consists of a fixing edge corresponding to the edge of the original strip from which project a series of teeth or prongs forming a comb structure.

A screen installation comprising a screen cloth assembly (22) with a screen cloth (7) and at least one flat strip (21) fastened to the screen cloth, as well as screen sections (8, 18), to opposite edges of the screen cloth, at least one screen section of which has an undercut chamber (20) and a longitudinal opening (23) that opens into this chamber, wherein the strip is accommodated in the chamber of the at least one screen section so that the screen cloth fastened to it can extend outwards from it through the longitudinal opening of the screen section. The strip (21) is fastened at a distance from the adjacent free edge of the screen cloth (7) in the form of a free screen cloth flap (19). A gutter guard apparatus and method of making the same is disclosed. In some embodiments, the gutter guard apparatus is made from at least two different types of materials, thereby enabling, for example, lighter weight, non-conductive plastics that are best suited for coupling to an existing rooftop gutter system in a corrosion preventing manner to be employed while at the same time providing for a central portion spanning the gutter opening made from a more durable material (e.g., lightweight expanded metals). The gutter guard apparatus may be manufactured by a variety of means, including a desirable, low-cost, and highly effective co-extrusion process through which end portions are extruded from raw materials of different colors into desired configurations and simultaneously extruded onto and effectively integrated with the central portion formed from a different material, thereby creating a unitary gutter guard apparatus that desirably incorporates two or more materials.

A bird deterrent comprises a supporting device/structure/apparatus/element/unit/or the like associable with a holding surface; a plurality of blade elements arranged substantially side by side, made at least partly of substantially elastic material and comprising a first end, associated with the supporting device/structure/apparatus/element/unit/or the like, and a second free end provided with a pointed element, wherein the blade elements are flexible in a substantially elastic manner as a result of the support of a bird.
