GRAB RAIL
20220322895 · 2022-10-13 · ·

A grab rail (10) includes an elongate central grip region (12) extending in a linear direction and two end portions (14). Each end portion (14) includes an elbow formation (18) extending from and contiguous with the grip region through to a direction generally transverse to the grip region and terminating in a surface engaging formation (20). The central grip region (12) includes a photo luminescent material that accumulates energy under normal or day light conditions and automatically emits light under low light conditions to glow in the dark. The grab rail does not require a power source and provides enhanced visibility in low or dark lighting conditions, and is particularly useful in care facilities and where people suffer from mobility issues.

Cable Railing Fitting

Methods and structures for securing a tensioned cable to a support post in a cable railing system. A threaded insert is inserted into the support post and a decorative cover placed over the support post. A cable-lock is partially screwed into the threaded insert and an end of the cable inserted into the cable-lock. The cable-lock is further screwed into the threaded insert to tension the cable. A further embodiment provides that a tensioning cartridge is loaded and placed in a support post, a decorative cover placed over the support post, an end of the cable inserted into a push-to-lock fitting of the tensioning cartridge, and a sprint-lock mechanism of the tensioning cartridge released to tension the cable.

RACKABLE RAILING ASSEMBLY
20230064587 · 2023-03-02 ·

A rackable railing assembly including a rail having a hollow interior. A series of picket slots are disposed in the rail. A tab strip is carried in the rail. A series of tab slots are laterally spaced along the tab strip. A tab is secured at one end of each of the tab slots and extends partially across the tab slots so that the tabs are bendable in the tab slots. A series of pickets are included having a distal end portion extending through the picket slots in the rail and having an end surface secured against one of the tabs. The pickets pivot in the picket slots causing the tabs to bend relative to the plain of the tab strip to allow the pickets and rail to rack to an angle.

SYSTEM FOR ADJUSTING AND FIXING SHEET-SHAPED ELEMENTS FOR RAILINGS
20230160213 · 2023-05-25 ·

A system for adjusting and fixing sheet-shaped elements for railings including containment means for a protective sheet-shaped element which are provided with a channel for housing the sheet-shaped element and adjusting means for adjusting the position of the sheet-shaped element, wherein the adjusting means include at least one resting and retaining element with substantially L-shaped cross-section provided with seats for the passage of two pins and with two planes for the sliding of adjusting elements, in such a way that the combination of the movements of the adjusting elements caused by the pins generates a rotation of the resting and retaining element which in turn causes a rotation of the sheet-shaped element.

BALUSTER ATTACHMENT MECHANISM HAVING SECURING RESILIENT FLANGES
20230160212 · 2023-05-25 ·

A multi-directional railing support includes a fastener having a first threaded end that attaches to a substrate and a second threaded end. A securing portion is attached to the second threaded end and includes outwardly extending resilient flanges. The securing portion and the second threaded end define a receiving stud. The securing portion is axially adjustable relative to the second threaded end to adjust a clearance space between the securing portion and the substrate. A baluster includes a hollow end that extends over the outwardly extending resilient flanges of the receiving stud. The outwardly extending resilient flanges cooperate with the hollow end to provide for movement of the baluster toward the substrate and contemporaneously prevent movement of the baluster away from the substrate. The outwardly extending resilient flanges bias the baluster toward a rotational axis of the fastener.

Cable system for attaching cables between two structures

A connecting assembly for connecting a cable end of a wire rope to a structure. Each connecting assembly includes a structure attachment interface and cable end attachment interface. The structure attachment interface is adapted to mount to the structure at a point on the structure without the connecting assembly exiting the structure at any other point on the structure. The cable end attachment interface is adapted to mount the cable end to the connecting assembly.

Rotating mount folding guardrail

The present disclosure relates systems and methods involving movable/adjustable guardrails. An example system includes at least one rotating mount having a lower weldment rotatably coupled to an upper weldment. The lower weldment is coupled to a walking surface. The system also includes a guardrail weldment coupled to the upper weldment of the at least one rotating mount. The system additionally includes an actuator configured to controllably adjust a configuration of the guardrail weldment between an extended configuration and a retracted configuration with respect to the walking surface. In some embodiments, the system could include a remote unit configured to control a position of the actuator. For example, the remote unit could include a wired remote controller having a user interface and at least one button.

Actuatable assemblies

An example system in accordance with an aspect of the present disclosure includes an opening assembly and a guard assembly installable in a floor above an enclosed region. The opening assembly is actuatable between an open configuration to provide access to the enclosed region, and a closed configuration in which the opening assembly provides a closed surface. A guard assembly is mounted to the opening assembly and actuatable independent of the opening assembly, between a retracted configuration flush with the closed surface of the opening assembly, and a deployed configuration to serve as a guard for the opening assembly.

STAIRS AND PLATFORM SYSTEM FOR MOBILE ELEVATED SHELTER

A shelter includes a body having a wall. A stairs and platform system is connected adjacent the wall of the shelter. The stairs and platform system includes a platform and a stair assembly. The platform includes: (i) first and second spaced-apart side rails and a platform floor located between the first and second side rails; and (ii) first and second platform handrail assemblies respectively located on opposite first and second lateral sides of the platform. The stair assembly is connected to the platform to provide access to the platform and is movable relative to the platform from a first operative position in which the stair assembly projects outwardly away from the platform to a second stowed position in which the stair assembly is retracted relative to the platform and at least part of the stair assembly is supported adjacent the platform. The first and second platform handrail assemblies are each selectively configurable to be in: (i) an operative position in which the first and second platform handrail assemblies project respectively upwardly from the opposite first and second lateral sides of the platform; and (ii) a stowed position in which the first and second platform handrail assemblies engage both the platform and the stair assembly to capture and retain the stair assembly in its stowed position.
