Finishing accessory with backing strip
A framing accessory includes a bead and a backing strip. The bead may comprise a first leg, a second leg, and a lip. The second leg may comprise a plurality of openings. The strip may be attached to the upper surface of the first leg. In some embodiments, the strip may comprise a single layer of material, while in other embodiments, the strip may comprise two or more layers of material. The strip may comprise material having fire resistant, intumescent, and/or sound insulating properties. The finishing accessory may be configured to be installed in a gap at a head of wall joint by positioning the first leg and strip along the top edge of a wallboard panel and the second leg extending vertically downward along the outer surface of the wallboard panel.
Casing bead
A casing bead having an integrated moisture seal. The casing bead has a body including a perforated flange designed to receive stucco, stone veneer, or a similar finishing system and a bead wall where the finishing system terminates. The casing bead further includes a mounting arrangement having a mounting channel disposed to receive a t-shaped rail. A moisture seal in the form of a circular rubber gasket colored red and having a t-shaped rail is removably secured within the mounting channel. The rubber gasket further includes a tail structure projection outward from the gasket for improved water and moisture resistance. The casing bead also includes a water dam having a water removal channel to facilitate the removal of any water and moisture which has penetrated the caulk or other sealant which has been used to cover the area around the moisture seal.
SCORE CUTTING TOOL
A portable tool for scoring a surface of a flexible building material. The tool includes a base receiving a hinged guide for securing the flexible building material. A platform with a blade is slidable relative to the base from a starting position to an end position to score the flexible building material.
PORTABLE WALL BASE COIL UNWINDING DEVICE
A portable wall base coil unwinding device is disclosed herein that comprises a base caddy having a topside and a bottom side; a turntable positioned above the topside of the base caddy; a lazy Susan swivel connector rotatably connecting the base caddy to the turntable; a wall base coil holder centrally positioned on the turntable, wherein the wall base coil holder is sized and configured to receive and retain a coil of wall base; and at least three freely rotatable and swivable wheels positioned on the bottom side of the base caddy. The present invention provides an improved tool and method for unwinding and positioning/installing a wall cove base material along the base of a wall.
Drywall And Cement Board Seam Improvement
A system and method for installing drywall and other sheet materials faster, and with seam improvement providing a better fit, durability, and finish. It employs a device having a wide rear stud connecting member and a narrower front retaining member in parallel orientation with one another. A middle rib separates the two members, creating two open-ended tracks extending away from the rib that may be angled relative to one another 180-degrees or less for differing applications, including butt joints, inside corners, and outside corners, with 180-degree angulation employed in butt joints. Stud connecting members preferably have lateral pre-formed fastener holes, and after being mounted to a stud/joist or other structural support, when edge portions of different sheets are inserted into each track, the sheets cover/conceal from view all fasteners used to mount the device. Thus, fewer coats of mud are required in seams, reducing sheet installation labor and material expense.
Device for applying compound to a corner bead and method of making the same
A corner beading device and methods of using and manufacturing the same are provided. The device has a single fixed body defining: a cavity for receiving flowable material, an inlet sized and shaped to correspond to the size and shape of the corner bead cross section, an outlet opposite to the inlet shaped to correspond to the corner bead cross section, and of larger vertical size than the inlet, and a guide comprising at least one of a channel and a protruding ridge. To use the device, a user inserts a corner bead into the inlet, along the guide, and out the outlet, whereby the upper edge of the outlet scrapes off all but a thin, substantially uniform layer of flowable material from the surface of the corner bead. A method of manufacturing the device comprises the step of injection molding the single fixed body of the device.
Drywall corner assembly
A drywall corner assembly includes a trim unit that has a first portion which is perpendicularly oriented with a second portion thereby facilitating the trim unit to be installed on an outside corner of a framed wall intended for receiving drywall installation. A pair of screw plates is each integrated into a respective one of the first portion and the second portion of the trim unit to accommodate a fastener for attaching the trim unit to framing members of the framed wall. A sheet is bonded to the trim unit and the sheet extends substantially across each of the first portion and the second portion of the trim unit. The sheet is aligned with an exposed surface of drywall installed on the framed wall to facilitate joint compound to be laid between the drywall and the sheet.
