A tile spacing device and accompanying system and method are disclosed for spacing a plurality of tiles having a contour. In one embodiment of the tile spacing device, the tile spacing device includes a U-shaped band having a body with two branches extending parallel therefrom and an opening therebetween. An arm having a lateral end extends proximally from one of the branches into the opening. Two interlocking connectors are respectively positioned on the body at the opening and on the arm. In one embodiment of the system, two tile spacing devices complimentarily releasably mate when the tile spacing devices are opposing and perpendicularly displaced to interlock the interlocking connectors.

Tile spacing plate for lippage control
11214969 · 2022-01-04 · ·

A spacing plate for tile lippage control has a base plate and at least one spacing member extending perpendicularly from an upper surface thereof. At least one spacing member comprises a pair of parallel elongate spacer walls defining parallel outer facing spacing control faces and the elongate spacer walls are spaced apart to define an elongate gap therebetween. As such, the spacing members may flexibly slightly to account for slight horizontal misalignments. Furthermore, edges of the baseplate may comprise cutouts dividing the baseplate into independently flexing leaves which can flexibly engage under individual tiles to account for slight vertical misalignments.

A leveling clip and tile leveling device for use of the same are disclosed. In one embodiment, the leveling clip includes a body defining an opening that is configured to accept a wedge device thereat. Tapered legs extend from the body and join a base at a base to body coupling. The base extends to a front and a rear of the body. The base to body coupling includes a frangible breakaway section that is integral prior to frangible separation and the frangible breakaway section, upon breaking, frangibly separates the body from the base. The leveling clip may be used with the wedge device to install two, three, or four tiles.

Improved System For Levelling Ceramics
20230366211 · 2023-11-16 ·

This invention refers to a one-piece ceramic-tile levelling system comprised of a base from which a longitudinally partially-threaded stem rises perpendicular to the flat surface of the base. The device also consists of a torque hood composed of a partially-threaded cylindrical orifice, to the walls of which said stem is attached in an arrangement concentric to said orifice by means of frangible connections. The stem thread and the torque hood thread are complementary to one another so that when the frangible connections are broken, the torque hood is screwed onto the stem in such a way that a face of the torque hood parallel to the flat surface of the base closes in on the same, levelling the two adjacent tiles as it does so.

TILE-SETTING LIPPAGE CONTROL

A tile-setting lippage control system and method for tiles set with mortar as floors or walls on prepared surfaces, providing tab-and-wedge pairs with a footed tab having a footplate, a wedge slot having a membrane, a multi-tapered descending portion having a thicker center, tapering base, and tapering sides, and a ridged upper portion having a reinforced upper edge, and with a tensioning wedge having a leading end, wedge bottom, tapered top edge, and wedge teeth. In use, the wedge bottom and the footplate apply a constant compressive force to two adjacent pieces of tile. The size, shape, and location of the wedge slot with the tapered top edge of the tensioning wedge accommodate a range of tile thicknesses by insertion of the tensioning wedge to different depths. Optionally, flap cuts in the ridged upper portion provide for formation of a top flap and side flaps which lock in engagement with the wedge teeth of the tensioning wedge. Optionally, a wedge void in the tensioning wedge provides for easier insertion and for accommodating excess pressure. The multi-tapered descending portion prevents pinching of the footed tab between tiles and prevents trapping of the footed tab by cured mortar. The straight sides of the reinforced upper edges adapt to being struck from a range of angles, and the tapering sides of the multi-tapered descending portion facilitate the tapering base tearing away from the footplate without being blocked by cured mortar around the footplate.
