WAVE MACHINE
A wave machine (8) that produces different shapes of standing, parabolic-shaped waveforms (150) used by surfers (200). The parabolic waveforms (150) have different face angles and depths. The machine (8) includes a rotating container (10) partially filled with a fluid 140. When the container (10) is rotated, a standing, parabolic waveform 150 is created in the fluid (140). In one embodiment, the container (10) is bowl container (11) with curved panels (60) and terminate at an upper edge (16). On or near the upper edge (16) of the sidewall (14) is upper flange (18) that partially extends into the bowl container (11). The bowl container (11) is coupled to a speed adjustable drive mechanism (50). As the bowl container (11) is rotated, fluid (14) is forced outward against the sidewall (14) and forms a parabolic waveform (150). As the speed of rotation is increased, the fluid (140) flows upward over the sidewall (14) and against the upper flange (18). The thickness, depth and face of parabolic waveform (150) adjacent to the sidewall (14) are increased.
COVER DEVICE FOR A LIQUID CONTAINER
The invention relates to a covering device for liquid tanks, in particular swimming pools, comprising a buoyant covering element, the covering element comprising a continuous covering layer and a fluid chamber connected to the covering layer, a pumping being provided, which is designed to convey a liquid, in particular water, and/or a gas, in particular air, into the fluid chamber. The invention also relates to an assembly of a covering device according to the invention together with a liquid tank.
SEQUENCED CHAMBER WAVE GENERATOR CONTROLLER AND METHOD
A wave generating apparatus mobile application controller and method are provided in which a mobile controller actuates a plurality of wave generating chambers in sequence using a delay between the actuation of each chamber to produce a rideable wave in a pool. The mobile application controller allows the user to select the exact type of wave to be produced by the wave generator apparatus by selecting the size, shape, and pattern of the wave. The application also allows the user to use a camera to photograph or record herself or someone else, even while riding a wave.
Publicly accessible urban beach entertainment complex with a centerpiece man-made tropical-style lagoon and method for providing efficient utilization of limited use land
A publicly accessible urban beach entertainment complex is disclosed, with a man-made tropical, pristine-clear lagoon as the centerpiece of the complex, with surrounding entertainment, educational, sports, and commercial facilities, the complex having controlled public access and providing the look and feel of a tropical beach with clear waters and sandy beaches. In addition a method for efficiently utilizing facilities and land that are vacant, underutilized, have limited uses, or that are contiguous to or nearby recreational, educational, sports, or commercial venues is disclosed. The method providing a publicly accessible urban beach entertainment complex with a centerpiece man-made tropical-style pristine-clear lagoon. The method allows for generating revenue and increasing efficiency by pairing vacant sites, underutilized sites, limited use land, or sites that are contiguous to entertainment, educational, sports, and/or commercial venues with urban beach entertainment complexes. The complex preferably has a controlled public access, thereby allowing entrance upon payment of a fee.
Wave generator pool with varying reef angles
A wave generator pool that may be used for surfing, which has reefs configured to provide a variety of novel wave shapes. Reefs may have multiple sections with varying angles, causing the shape or direction of the wave to change as a surfer rides the wave. One or more embodiments of the pool may have two basins that share a common wave generator, resulting in substantial energy savings. An illustrative dual basin pool may have an intermediate basin on one side and a beginner basin on the other. The intermediate basin may have an easy takeoff reef section with a reef angle between 65 and 85 degrees. The beginner basin may have several isolated takeoff reef sections where a corresponding number of surfers can await a wave. Reefs may be constructed and reconfigured using a modular reef structure that avoids the months of downtime associated with rebuilding fixed reefs.
Wave Generating System
A wave generating system is provided. The system includes an enclosure having a base and plurality of sidewalls extending orthogonally upward from edges thereon, wherein a plurality of pistons are disposed over the surface area of the base therein. A covering layer of a waterproof and flexible construction is pivotally affixed to a top end of the plurality of pistons and attached to the plurality of sidewalls. The plurality of pistons is operably connected to a circuit board disposed within a control panel via a grid connection and programmed to create patterns and contours in the covering layer via the plurality of pistons. The patterns of ocean floor conditions ideal for surfing, as well as other geometric patterns, may be programmed and operated using a display screen or remote control.
Immersion Platform
An immersion platform includes a dome configured to display a predetermined scene, wherein the dome includes an outer perimeter. A controller is configured to display the predetermined scene on the dome and to activate the plurality of accessories according to a predetermined timeline. A camera is configured to allow a user to stream the user to other platforms while the user is using the platform.
SURFING WAVE-MAKING APPARATUS AND SURFING PRACTICE FACILITY EQUIPPED WITH THE SAME
To provide a surfing wave-making apparatus that is capable of making the so-called tubular plunging breakers which are suitable for surfing, and which have continuous crests ranging from a collapse stage to a stage immediately before collapse. The present invention comprises: a container body 110 that is open at the front thereof, is equipped with at least a bottom part, and is capable of trapping water in part of the inner space thereof; and a moving track 120 that allows the container body 110 to travel thereon and that is equipped with a slope surface track 121 and an in-pool track 123. The container body 110 falls along the slope surface track 121, plunges into water of the pool as a result of free-fall motion, and travels on the in-pool track 123 in the container body 110 decelerates, only the water held inside is thrust forward in the form of an isolated traveling wave 202 so as to produce a plunging breaker suitable for surfing.
Publicly accessible urban beach entertainment complex including a surf feature with a centerpiece man-made tropical-style lagoon and method for providing efficient utilization of limited use land
A publicly accessible urban beach entertainment complex is disclosed, with a man-made tropical, pristine-clear lagoon as the centerpiece of the complex. The lagoon includes a surf feature and surrounding the lagoon are entertainment, educational, sports, and commercial facilities. The complex has a controlled public access and provides the look and feel of a tropical beach with clear waters and sandy beaches. In addition a method for efficiently utilizing facilities and land that are vacant, underutilized, have limited uses, or that are contiguous to or nearby recreational, educational, sports, or commercial venues is disclosed. METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MANAGING AND CONTROLLING BREAKER WAVES IN A WAVE POOL
A wave pool having multiple wave breaking zones extending across the pool floor, wherein different wave breaking formations with different wave characteristics can be generated within each zone, using the same wave energy derived from the same original wave, wherein surfers with different abilities can surf in different locations within the same pool. Specific features are provided that enable breaker waves to be properly managed and controlled such that intermediate/advanced surfers can surf in one zone and beginner surfers can surf in another zone. Included are special dividers to prevent surfers from crossing from one zone to the next, while at the same time, allowing wave energy to pass through. An attenuating means is provided to help reduce the choppiness of the waves. Unique exit areas are provided along the sidewalls to enable surfers to exit from the wave pool at various locations, such as directly from the zones, so that surfers don't have to surf or traverse all the way to the shallow end to exit the pool.
