A skimmer assembly includes a housing, a first inlet, a first outlet, a second inlet, a second outlet, and a valve. The housing includes a first chamber portion, a second chamber portion, and a divider wall. The divider wall is operable to inhibit fluid communication between the first chamber portion and the second chamber portion. The first inlet and the first outlet are in fluid communication with the first chamber portion. The second inlet and the second outlet are in fluid communication with the second chamber portion. The valve is operable in an open state and a closed state. The valve is configured to (i) allow a flow of fluid into the second chamber portion in the open state and (ii) inhibit the flow of fluid into the second chamber portion in the closed state.

Skimmer and Basket Assembly

A skimmer assembly includes a basket assembly and a housing. The basket assembly includes a basket and a handle rotatably coupled to the basket. The handle includes a first end extending outwardly from the basket and configured to rotate between a first orientation and a second orientation about an axis of rotation. The axis of rotation extends in a first direction. The housing includes an upper chamber, a lower chamber, and a wall disposed between the upper chamber and the lower chamber. The wall includes an aperture defined in part by opposed lateral walls configured to inhibit translation of the basket assembly in a direction transverse to the first direction when the first end is in the first orientation.

Skimmer Cover Assembly

A skimmer assembly includes a housing, a base member, and a carriage. The housing includes a plurality of walls defining a chamber. The base member includes a first sidewall and a first hub. The first sidewall extends from an upper surface of the base member. The first hub extends from a lower surface of the base member. The lower surface is opposite the upper surface. The base member is configured to receive the housing such that the first sidewall at least partially surrounds the housing. The carriage includes a second sidewall and a second hub. The second sidewall extends from an upper surface of the carriage. The first hub extends from a lower surface of the carriage opposite the upper surface of the carriage. The first hub is configured to rotatably receive the second hub.

Filter assembly having an outer filter element and an inner filter element removably installed within the outer filter element

A filter assembly for filtering water in spas, swimming pools, hot tubs and whirlpools, having a first or outer filter element, a second or inner filter element removably installed within the outer filter element, a first coupling member associated with the outer filter element, a second coupling member associated with the inner filter element, the first and second coupling members engaging one another to connect the inner filter element with the outer filter element, and a releasable detent arrangement resisting disengagement of the first and second coupling members from one another. The outer filter element includes a filter medium for mechanically removing particulates from a fluid to be treated and the inner filter element includes a filter medium containing fluid purifying particles.

METHODS, SYSTEMS, AND DEVICES FOR PROVIDING COMMUNICATIONS CAPABILITIES TO EQUIPMENT OF SWIMMING POOLS AND SPAS

Communications capabilities are supplied to components of pool water recirculation systems, even if the components lack electrical power or supply wires. Capabilities may be furnished by wireless RF devices that connect to existing fittings or ports of the components, for example. The devices are configured to obtain desired information relating to the components (or the water within them) and transmit the information remotely for processing or consideration.

A device, system, and a method are provided for notifying a user to replace a sacrificial anode in a pool or spa system. The device is provided in the form of a body defining a cavity, a sacrificial anode, and a sensor. The sacrificial anode substantially surrounds the cavity when the sacrificial anode is coupled to the body. The sensor is at least partially received into the cavity and is in communication with a pool automation system. The sensor is designed to transmit a signal to the pool automation system when the sensor detects water within the cavity. The signal is processed by the pool automation system, and the pool automation system may then transmit a notification to a user that the sacrificial anode is depleted.

HYBRID HEATER FOR POOLS AND SPAS

A swimming pool or spa may include hybrid heater. The hybrid heater includes an enclosure, a first heat source within the enclosure, and a second heat source within the enclosure. The first heat source may include an electric heater. A method of heating a swimming pool or spa using the hybrid heater includes receiving information about a desired temperature of the pool, determining an operating mode of the hybrid heater based on the received information, and controlling the hybrid heater pursuant to the determined operating mode.

Fluid distribution manifold
