MIXING CHAMBER FOR AIR HANDLING IN AN INFORMATION HANDLING SYSTEM
A mixing module may be used in a modular data center to provide cooling of air by mixing exterior environment air with warm air exhausted from information handling systems in other modules of the modular data center. The mixing module may include a mixing aisle that provides a low-impedance path for warm and cool air to mix and for a homogenous air mass for cooling IT equipment. The mixing aisle may be divided into two portions separated by dampers to allow for control over the mixing of air in the mixing aisle. The dampers in the mixing aisle, as well as dampers on an intake and exhaust from the mix module, may be controlled to obtain a desired temperature and/or humidity level.
MODULAR DATA CENTER WITH UTILITY MODULE
A data center may be organized into modules, wherein the modules are purchased pre-configured to provide certain functionality of an information handling system. The modules may include utility modules, information technology (IT) modules, and air handling unit (AHU) modules. The utility module may provide infrastructure for other modules, such as electrical power service infrastructure. Electrical power may be provided by the utility module to other modules through two or more redundant busses connected to different electrical sources. The utility module may also include a control system that allows the utility services to be reconfigured to allow installation of new modules without interrupting service to existing modules.
Above Grade, Rapidly Deployable Foundation System
Disclosed is a rapidly deployable, above grade, low-thermal conducting, grillage-type foundation system made of composite materials, and erectable at or above grade for supporting structures like equipment shelters and communication masts. These units include generator sheds, communication shelters, fuel tanks, radio masts, and the like. The foundation system has one or more layers of beams laid at right angles to each other, and is used to disperse heavy point loads of a superstructure to an acceptable ground bearing pressure. Web stiffeners were affixed to foundation beams and vertical support members were fixed to the upper surface of the foundation beams, to stiffen the foundation and structure at every footing. The foundation is adapted to be installed with little site preparation, is easily transportable with a medium lift helicopter. Essentially, the foundation was engineered to only use steel in its assembly for the metal feet, angles, plates and the like.
MODULAR DATA CENTER
A modular data machine room includes a data cabinet subsystem, a cooling subsystem and a power distribution subsystem. The data cabinet subsystem includes two columns of data cabinet groups, and each column of data cabinet group includes at least one data cabinet. The cooling subsystem includes at least one cooling unit, and the cooling unit is arranged in the two columns of data cabinet groups. Each data cabinet and cooling unit is connected with the power distribution subsystem through an interface. The machine room further includes a sealing subsystem, which seals a cold/hot channel between the two columns of data cabinet groups. The machine room has a short construction period and a high cooling efficiency.
METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR TEMPERATURE CONTROL OF COMPUTER RACKS AND COMPUTER DATA CENTRES
A computer data centre having multiple open computer hardware storage racks. Each rack includes multiple computer hardware components horizontally rack-mounted in a front side of the rack, and a heat exchanging unit vertically mounted to a back side of the rack. A first cooling circuit interconnects the heat exchanging units of at least some of the computer hardware storage racks. At least a first rack and a second rack are arranged back to back in the computer data centre, with a first heat exchanger unit of the first rack facing a second heat exchanger unit of the second rack.
Cascading roof with interdependent roof panel sections
A system including a plurality of servers mounted in server racks and a cold aisle containment (CAC), the CAC including a roof system, wherein the roof system includes a frame, a plurality of roof panels, wherein each roof panel is connected to the frame and is rotatable with respect to the frame, and a holding mechanism for holding a first roof panel among the plurality of roof panels in a closed position, wherein each roof panel among the plurality of roof panels overlaps at least one adjacent roof panel among the plurality of roof panels, and wherein release of the holding mechanism causes each of the roof panels to rotate to an open position in a cascading manner.
Electromagnetic pulse shield
A method according to one embodiment includes securing a first plurality of conductive sheets to a surface, applying a conductive tape to a first plurality of joints between conductive sheets of the first plurality of conductive sheets, and securing a second plurality of conductive sheets to the first plurality of conductive sheets without fully penetrating the first plurality of conductive sheets. In such an embodiment, each of a second plurality of joints between conductive sheets of the second plurality of conductive sheets is offset relative to the first plurality of joints.
METHOD FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A DATA CENTER
A method for the construction of a data center, includes (a) providing a fresh concrete composition including a paste that includes a hydraulic binder, a mineral addition and water, the paste being present in a mixture with sand and aggregates, whereby the paste is present in the concrete composition in a volume of <320 L/m.sup.3 and/or the solid volume fraction of said paste is >50 vol.-% and (b) placing the fresh concrete composition so as to build walls, a floor and/or a ceiling of the data center, which are intended to surround the individual components of computer systems, which are housed in the data center.
