A method for transporting a tower section of a wind turbine, comprising the steps of: providing a tower section which is adapted to be transported in a predetermined transport position, wherein the tower section when in the transport position has a longitudinal axis extending in the horizontal direction and a wall extending along the longitudinal axis, wherein the tower section is adapted to adopt a first vertical height when in an unstressed state in the transport position, applying a deformation force to the wall so as to elastically deform at least one portion of the tower section in such a way that the tower section adopts a second vertical height that is smaller than the first vertical height when in an elastically deformed state in the transport position, and locking the tower section in the elastically deformed state.

Monitoring and control of a movable tower in an irrigation system

Aspects of the technology described herein provide a system for improved control and monitoring of a movable tower in an irrigation system. A computer controller associated with a tower of an irrigation system receives an indication of parameter modification. The system is then able to change parameters at a component of the tower control system based on the received parameters. The system stores the current angle sensed between two adjacent span members. If the stored angle is between two threshold levels, a drive signal is provided to a motor. The system is operable to selectively apply a drive signal at a tower in an align mode. The system provides the ability to digitally modify a threshold that is used in a machine run-mode to operate the motor at a tower.

EASY DUMP BUCKET

An easy dump bucket for installation of post has a bucket that is essentially tubular with a bottom portion and an opening towards a front bottom portion of the bucket. A pair of door tracks are vertically and parallelly located along the sides of the opening. A door is slidably disposed within the tracks and rests against the bottom portion when closed. The door slides upward to an open position by moving it up. A handle is connected to the door and interacts with a latch that keeps the door open. The bottom portion of the bucket is angled to gravitationally direct fill material towards the opening. A lifting arm is attached to a top portion of the bucket to allow the bucket to be lifted into place during use. A guide portion is disposed along the top portion of the bucket on the same side as the opening.

ENCLOSURE STRUCTURE, AND AERODYNAMIC CONFIGURATION ADJUSTER ARRANGED ON OUTER SURFACE OF SAME

An enclosure structure, and an aerodynamic configuration adjuster arranged on an outer surface of same are provided. The aerodynamic configuration adjuster is of a grid structure capable of surrounding the enclosure structure, and the grid structure comprises a plurality of grid cells, at least some of grid cells have bevel edges, and the attack angle of a fluid is changed when the fluid passes over the bevel edges. The aerodynamic configuration adjuster changes the aerodynamic configuration of the fluid, and thus the resistance coefficient becomes smaller such that a pressure differential between the pressures at a incident flow surface and a back surface of the enclosure structure is reduced, thereby reducing a forward resistance; and in addition, due to a smaller resistance coefficient, the amplitude of a transverse vortex-induced resonance can also be reduced, thereby reducing vibration.

A drilling rig includes a rig floor, first and second support structures, a mast, a lower drilling machine, a continuous drilling unit, an upper drilling machine, and an upper mast assembly. The rig floor includes a V-door defining a V-door axis extending perpendicularly from the side of the rig floor that includes the V-door. The first and second support structures define a traverse corridor having a traverse corridor axis, wherein the traverse corridor axis is perpendicular to the V-door axis. The drilling rig may be used for continuous drilling of a wellbore.

Tapered spiral welded structure

A method for creating a tapered spiral welded conical structure where the overall shape of the cone is first graphically slit axially and unwrapped, and then a series of construction arcs and lines are created to form the edge lines of a strip that can then be wrapped (rolled) to form a tapered conical structure. The edges of the spirally wound strip can be welded together, and a very large conical structure can thus be achieved. Various construction options are presented from a constant width strip to strip made from straight segments. Equations are given for the formation of the strips to enable those skilled in the art of spiral welded tubing to practice the invention.

Wind turbine tower with reinforcing elements

Wind turbine tower with reinforcing elements. The wind turbine tower comprises at least a first section (1) comprising at least two segments (2) defining at least two vertical joints (3) disposed between the at least two segments (2), at least two reinforcing elements (4) placed in each vertical joint (3), and at least an upper region (5) disposed above at least a lower region (6). The reinforcing elements (4) are configured to provide a first shear strength (1ss) in the at least upper region (5) and a second shear strength (2ss) in the at least lower region (6), the first shear strength and the second shear strength having different values and being enough to bear a maximum expected shear force in the vertical joints (3).

FOUNDATION SYSTEM AND METHOD OF CONSTRUCTION
