In addition, the method may include securing a first support leg of the tower section to the first trolley, securing a second support leg of the tower section to the second trolley and coupling at least one secondary support member between the first and seconds support legs.
Modular drilling rig system and method for assembling the same
The invention relates to a modular drilling rig system comprising multiple components, which system is transfigurable between a transport mode and an operational mode, and comprises: a. a drilling rig mast which is positionable in a vertical orientation; b. a base structure adapted to be positioned on a surface near the well center to support the drilling rig mast thereon, wherein the base structure comprises two elongated members that are connected to each other by a cross beam; c. a displacement system to displace the drilling rig with respect to the surface in a horizontal direction; wherein the displacement system is configured to displace the two elongated members of the base structure together in order to displace the drilling rig, and is configured such that the two elongated members can be displaced with respect to each other when the two elongated members are not connected to each other.
Cylinder alignment monitoring system for a mast or derrick
A cylinder alignment monitoring system for a mast or derrick hingedly connected to a substructure wherein at least a pair of extending cylinders move the mast or derrick between a storage position and an upright use position. The monitoring system includes a distance measurement device to determine the extension distance of each of the extending cylinders. A comparison device compares the extension distances measured for each of the extending cylinders.
Method of constructing a wind tower foundation
A fatigue resistant gravity based spread footing under heavy multi-axial cyclical loading of a wind tower. The foundation having a central vertical pedestal, a substantially horizontal continuous bottom support slab, a plurality of radial reinforcing ribs extending radially outward from the pedestal. The pedestal, ribs and slab forming a continuous monolithic structure. The foundation having a three-dimensional network of post-tensioning elements that keep the structural elements under heavy multi-axial post compression with a specific eccentricity intended to reduce stress amplitudes and deflections and allows the foundation to have a desirable combination of high stiffness and superior fatigue resistance. The foundation design reduces the weight and volume of materials used, reduces cost, and improves heat dissipation conditions during construction by having a small ratio of concrete mass to surface area thus eliminating the risk of thermal cracking due to heat of hydration.
Land drilling rig and methods of assembly
A land drilling rig and associated methods are described that facilitate fast rig up of the drilling rig for drilling a well. In some embodiments, the drilling rig may include a rear trunk, a center trunk, and an alignment frame. The alignment frame may be coupled to an edge of the rear trunk and to an edge of the center trunk during unloading of one of the rear trunk and the center trunk from a trailer to align them during unloading. The drilling rig may be formed form a plurality of components, some of which may be dual purpose structures that store equipment during transit, testing, and rig up and that form a part of the support structure of the drilling rig. Further, base boxes may include moveable feet that can be controlled to walk the base boxes and the drilling rig to a selected location.
Expanding foundation system and method
A foundation system for supporting a structure may include a main post, a racking post, and a barb assembly. The main post may include an upper section and a lower section below the upper section. The racking post may be telescopically connected to the upper section of the main post. The barb assembly may be connected to the lower section of the main post. The barb assembly may be configured to move from an unexpanded state to an expanded state, thereby forming a wedge shape at a lower section of the main post.
WIND TURBINE TOWER INSTALLATION APPARATUS AND METHOD
A wind turbine tower installation apparatus and methods of erecting a wind turbine tower are disclosed. The wind turbine tower installation apparatus is arranged for installing a tower has a plurality of longitudinally stackable sections. The apparatus has a frame comprising a guide for positioning the apparatus on an installed tower portion, a platform for supporting wind turbine components on the frame, and a mechanism for transversely positioning the supported wind turbine component in alignment with the tower. A lifting mechanism is provided for moving the apparatus longitudinally up and down the installed tower portion. The apparatus further has a yaw control thruster mounted to the frame and configured to provide a counter acting force to rotational wind loads in use.

Device and Method for Offshore Arranging of a Wind Turbine or Components Thereof
Described is a device for offshore arranging of a wind turbine or components thereof on a foundation present at sea. The device includes an elongate superstructure connected releasably to the foundation and extending between a lower surface and an upper surface thereof in the vertical direction from the foundation. The superstructure has an internal space which is accessible to a tower section of the wind turbine and in which the tower section can be received.
