The land-based drilling rig also includes a drill rig floor coupled to the first and second substructures, the drill rig floor including a V-door. The side of the drill rig floor has the V-door defining a V-door side of the drill rig floor, where the V-door side of the drill rig floor is parallel to the first substructure. The first and second substructures pivotably support the drill rig floor. The land-based drilling rig also includes a mast, the mast mechanically coupled to one or more of the first substructure, the second substructure, and the drill rig floor. The mast is pivotably coupled to one or more of the first substructure, the second substructure, and the drill rig floor by a mast pivot point. The mast includes a V-door side, the V-door side of the mast parallel to the first or second substructure. In addition, the land-based drilling rig includes a mast hydraulic lift cylinder coupled to the mast at a mast lift point and a choke manifold, the choke manifold positioned on the drill rig floor.

Pole erection apparatus and method

Cruciform tower

A tower includes a plurality of stacked sections extending in a longitudinal direction from a base section to a top section. At least one of the stacked sections includes a first block and a second block joined together. The first block and the second block have interlocking portions such that a first portion of the first block is located above a first portion of the second block in the longitudinal direction.

ASSEMBLY SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR ASSEMBLING A TOWER FOR A WIND GENERATOR
20170241407 · 2017-08-24 ·

The invention has for object a system for assembling a tower for a wind generator consisting of a plurality of blocks, comprising:

a structure for lifting each one of said blocks, and

a structure for supporting said lifting structure, the lifting structure being moveable in relation to the support structure between a block-gripping position and a block-holding position, the lifting structure comprising a body for gripping each block.

WIND TURBINE GENERATOR ASSEMBLIES

An offshore wind turbine generator comprises a tower 1 and a platform 2. The tower 1 is provided with a side door 4 accessed from the platform 2 using a stairway 5 leading to an upper platform 6. The upper platform 6 is formed from the upper surface of a cabinet 7 which houses a diesel backup generator. Both the backup generator and the cabinet 7 are mounted to the tower 1 by bolts, such that the cabinet and backup generator are fully supported by the tower 1. A diesel fuel tank 12 is also mounted to the tower 1 by bolts. The fuel tank supplies diesel fuel to the backup generator.
