CONVERTIBLE ACCESS PANEL LATCH ASSEMBLY
20200087948 · 2020-03-19 ·

A latch assembly for a heating, ventilation, and/or air conditioning (HVAC) enclosure includes a latch having a securement portion configured to couple to an access panel of the enclosure and having a rotational portion. The rotational portion has an engagement feature configured to engage with a tool face or a tool receptacle and the rotational portion has a first retainer adjacent to the engagement feature. The rotational portion is configured to rotate relative to the securement portion such that a locking portion of the rotational portion transitions between a closed configuration and an open configuration. The latch assembly includes a handle accessory having a handle engagement driver configured to engage with the engagement feature of the rotational portion along a first linking axis and having a second retainer configured to couple with the first retainer of the rotational portion along a second linking axis, transverse to the first linking axis.

A fluorescent doorknob assembly for illuminating a doorknob in a darkened environment includes a doorknob that is rotatably mounted on a door for opening the door. A light emitter is coupled to the doorknob. The light emitter is comprised of a fluorescent material thereby facilitating the light emitter to emit light in a darkened environment. In this way the light emitter illuminates the doorknob thereby making the doorknob visible to a user a night.

Handles with retracted and extended positions

Examples described herein include handles with extended and retracted positions. In some examples, a handle comprises a housing and a knob. The knob may have a first surface and a circumferential sidewall. The knob may have a retracted position in the housing and an extended position. In the extended position, the circumferential sidewall protrudes from the housing and the knob is rotatable between a first position and a second position.

ELECTRONIC LOCK MECHANISM

An interchangeable electronic lock mechanism provides selective access to a motor controlled latching system including a motorized pin to lock and unlock a knob assembly. The lock mechanism may be used to replace key operated locking cores, on the exterior of a storage unit, with a plug and optional adapter inserted into a remaining shell housing, and a driver to control access to a storage unit. Manual rotation of the knob activates the drive assembly to control access to the storage unit. An optional break away security feature in the knob inhibits unauthorized unlatching of the lock. When the lock is unlatched, the knob rotates the drive assembly including the plug and adapter within the shell housing, and in turn, activates the driver to operate the lock assembly in the storage unit. An optional modular chassis assembly includes a removable array of components for testing, maintenance and repair.

Electromechanical door lock actuator device for glass doors with narrow frames, a door with such device and a retrofit method
20240076905 · 2024-03-07 ·

An electromechanical door lock actuation device with an actuator module is mounted on a metal profile of a glass door such that the actuator module is offset from the door lock in order for the actuator module to not block opening of the door.

Lock Handle and Rotating Shaft Combination Mechanism
20240044169 · 2024-02-08 ·

A lock handle and rotating shaft combination mechanism includes a handle having a tubular socket extending axially. The socket includes a connection portion and a protrusion. A tubular rotating shaft includes a securing member formed radially to the rotating shaft. The securing member is located corresponding to the connection portion. A guiding slot is defined axially in the distal end of the rotating shaft. When the protrusion is engaged with the guiding slot, the rotating shaft expands radially outward, and the securing member is engaged with the connection portion to connect the handle to the rotating shaft. No tool is required during the assembling processes to reduce time for assembling the combination mechanism.

Remote Control Unlocking and Locking System
20190352932 · 2019-11-21 ·

A portable, temporary removable system for locking and unlocking a door knob, door lever or locking deadbolt without the requirement of using keyed entry. Several manners of automated locking and unlocking are introduced and the instant system is designed for quick installation and removal. Once attached, the system may be remotely controlled from the outside of the door via a pattern of knocks, via electronic communications or a combination of a knock pattern and electronic communication.

Interchangeable customizable hardware for pull mechanisms

A pull assembly includes a base and a decorative insert which is rotatably mated to the base to allow for easy assembly and customization. The pully assembly can be formed by a process that includes the steps of: (a) forming a base by a first process; (b) receiving an image of a custom decorative insert that is intended to mate with the base to form the pull assembly; and (c) forming the custom decorative insert based on the received image and using an additive manufacturing process.

NEGATIVE POISSON`S RATIO MATERIALS FOR DOORS AND WINDOWS

A door includes a rectangular panel having a first face, a second face, and two pairs of opposing edges, in which the edges of each pair of edges are parallel and in which a first pair of edges is longer than a second pair of edges. The rectangular panel includes a layered composite material, in which a first layer of the composite material has a positive Poisson's ratio (PPR) and a second layer of the composite material is disposed in contact with the first layer and that includes a material having a negative Poisson's ratio (NPR). The door includes a hinge including plates joined together by a joint, in which a first one of the plates is attached to a first one of the edges of the first pair of edges and in which a second one of the plates extends beyond the first one of the edges. The door also includes a handle opening defined through a thickness of the rectangular panel.
