VEHICULAR ACCESS SYSTEM WITH EXTENDABLE AND RETRACTABLE DOOR HANDLE ASSEMBLY
20230114112 · 2023-04-13 ·

A vehicular access system includes a door handle assembly having (i) a base mounted at a door of a vehicle, (ii) a handle movable relative to the base and (iii) an electrically operable actuator that is electrically operated to move the handle relative to the base. The handle is movable between a recessed position and a partially extended position. The vehicular access system controls operation of the electrically operable actuator to move the handle between the recessed position and the partially extended position. The vehicular access system detects an authorized user and determines movement of the detected authorized user. Responsive to determination that the authorized user is approaching the door of the vehicle, the vehicular access system unlocks the door handle assembly and controls operation of the electrically operable actuator to move the handle to the partially extended position.

MODULAR BIDIRECTIONAL SPRING CAGE
20220325556 · 2022-10-13 ·

An exemplary apparatus includes a modular, self-contained spring cage and a spindle. The spring cage includes a housing and a clock spring mounted in the housing, and the clock spring includes a first leg and a second leg. The spindle extends through the spring cage, and is rotatable from a home position about a longitudinal axis in each of a first rotational direction and a second rotational direction. Rotation of the spindle from the home position in the first rotational direction causes pivoting of the first leg while the second leg remains stationary, thereby causing the clock spring to urge the spindle to return to the home position. Rotation of the spindle from the home position in the second rotational direction causes pivoting of the second leg while the first leg remains stationary, thereby causing the clock spring to urge the spindle to return to the home position.

DEVICE FOR LOCKING A DOOR

Embodiments of the disclosure are directed to a cabinet for storing server equipment. The cabinet includes a fan cover disposed over the cabinet and configured to secure a plurality of fan units, and a locking system for securing the fan cover. The fan cover has a channel disposed along a front edge of the fan cover. The locking system includes at least one T-bar and a bracket. The at least one T-bar includes a horizontal bar movably disposed within the channel, and a vertical bar extending generally perpendicularly to the horizontal bar from a first end of the vertical bar. The bracket is coupled to a second end of the vertical bar. The bracket has a knob attached thereto for locking and unlocking the horizontal bar at a first position that locks the fan cover and a second position that unlocks the fan cover.

DEVICE AND METHOD FOR INTEGRATED HANDS-FREE DOOR HANDLE
20230193653 · 2023-06-22 ·

A device includes a door latch activator configured to disengage a door latch from a door frame and a door handle coupled to the door latch activator and configured to activate the door latch activator to disengage the door latch from the door frame. The device further includes a movable plunger having a first end coupled to the door latch activator and adapted to activate the door latch activator to disengage the door latch from the door frame, and an arm rest coupled to a second end of the plunger. The second end is opposite the first end, and the arm rest includes a base region adapted to receive a downward force to engage the plunger. When the base region engages the plunger, the plunger causes the door latch activator to disengage the door latch from the door frame. The plunger may be spring-activated.

A device is provided that includes a mount adapted to attach to a door above a door handle, and a spring-activated plunger coupled to the mount is adapted to move with respect to the mount. A door handle engager is coupled to a first end of the spring-activated plunger and adapted to engage the door handle. An arm rest is coupled to a second end of the spring-activated plunger and is adapted to be mounted in various ways. A base region of the arm rest is adapted to receive a first force from above that engages the spring-activated plunger. A vertical region of the arm rest is adapted to receive a second force to push the door open when the door opens away from a user. The vertical region is adapted to receive a third force to pull the door open when the door opens towards the user.

Hands free gate

The present gate includes a barrier frame and a gate in the barrier frame. The gate is opened by inserting a foot into a foot opening in the gate, which action compresses springs disposed about pivot pins between the gate and the barrier frame and draws an extended latch downwardly and out of a latch receiver that is bottomless, which action unlatches and frees the gate from the barrier frame such that the gate can be swung open. Downward travel of the gate is minimized until a foot pushes a pivoting stop out of the way.

DOOR OPEN ASSIST

An assist apparatus utilized within a door system to aid in opening the door. The assist apparatus may include one or more door activation devices (e.g., a first door activation device and a second door activation device, such as pulls on opposite sides of a sliding door) that can rotate around a pivot location. Moreover, the assist apparatus may further include one or more assist components operatively coupled to the one or more door activation devices. The door activation device(s) are configured to be operatively coupled to a sliding door and allow for rotation of at least a portion of the door activation device. The assist component(s) of the door activation device(s) aid in opening or closing the sliding door by engaging a door frame, wall, or the like as the door activation device is rotated.

Apparatus and method for assisting a user in actuating a locking mechanism associated with a storage device

An apparatus and method for assisting a user in actuating a locking mechanism associated with a storage device. The locking mechanism has a combination input device and a lock capable of being switched from a locked state to an unlocked state upon entering a preset combination using the combination input device. The actuator comprises an interface configured to releasably engage the combination input device of the locking mechanism and move the combination input device to actuate the locking mechanism and transition the lock from the locked state to the unlocked state. A controller is in communication with the actuator and configured to operate the actuator so that the actuator moves the combination input device based on the preset combination to actuate the locking mechanism and transition the lock from the locked state to the unlocked state.
