DOOR, LOCK, OPERATOR, ASSEMBLY AND ASSOCIATED METHODS
20210214972 · 2021-07-15 ·

The present invention relates to an anti-barricade door handle assembly which comprises an integrated auxiliary door handle for use in an emergency. The auxiliary door handle can be configured between a stowed configuration and an activated configuration. The auxiliary door handle is operable to operate a lock when in the activated configuration and inoperable when in the stowed configuration. The auxiliary door handle can only be configured to the activated configuration by an authorized user. The auxiliary door handle is configured to override a primary door handle which operates the lock in normal, non-emergency use.

The handle attachment includes a base portion that can be attached to a portion of a wall surface of a door, a flap portion that applies, as a result of a pulling operation, a pulling force to the door via the base portion, a flap rotation mechanism that rotatably connects the flap portion with respect to the base portion around a rotation axis, and a biasing member that biases the flap portion in a first rotation direction around the rotation axis with respect to the base portion. The flap portion includes a base end portion connected to the flap rotation mechanism and a distal end portion arranged at a position away from the flap rotation mechanism. The first rotation direction is a direction in which the distal end portion of the flap portion separates from the wall surface of the door.

Hands free gate

The present gate includes a barrier frame and a gate in the barrier frame. The gate is opened by inserting a foot into a foot opening in the gate, which action compresses springs disposed about pivot pins between the gate and the barrier frame and draws an extended latch downwardly and out of a latch receiver that is bottomless, which action unlatches and frees the gate from the barrier frame such that the gate can be swung open. Downward travel of the gate is minimized until a foot pushes a pivoting stop out of the way.

DOOR HANDLE ADAPTER FOR SPRUNG HUB

An adapter for either a handle set or a lever set door lever is equipped with a pair of springs to provide a pre-load on the spindle. The pre-load prevents sagging of the lever due to the large mass of the lever. A sleeve in the adapter is formed out of a compressible material that accepts the spindle in a press-fit configuration. This allows for greater manufacturing tolerances while still providing a solid and secure engagement between the spindle and the adapter. As a result, any free play in the lever is eliminated and the lever is maintained in a horizontal, home position when the lever is not in use. Following use through rotation of the lever, the springs promptly return the lever back to the home position while the sleeve prevents any slop or free-play in the lever's motion.

Disclosed herein are sanitary tools including a sanitary tool for opening a door, which sanitary tool may include: a housing: an arm capable of ingress into or egress from the housing, or both; and a cartridge removably coupled to the housing, the cartridge having a sanitizing portion capable of receiving sanitizing material and capable of being abutted against a portion of the arm.

INTERCHANGEABLE CYLINDER FOR LOCKS

Interchangeable cylinder for locks that have an outer cylinder and an inner cylinder that has a locking device that uses a master key to unlock it is provided. The object of the invention is the inner cylinder, which carries an associated wing in functions of a handle, the wing and the body of the cylinder forming a single whole. The wing is integrated in the cylinder itself, and is extended radially beyond its body. The wing is of thin, flat or extra-flat configuration, and is attached to or integrated into the front of the cylinder itself. For application in interchangeable cylinder locks, to comply with ADA regulations.

CONTACT-MINIMIZING DOOR OPENING AND CLOSING SYSTEM
20200399939 · 2020-12-24 ·

A contact-minimizing door opening and closing system for a door has a handle including a shaft with an endplate disposed on the shaft opposite the handle and a latch bolt including a pin positioned to contact the endplate. The pin prevents movement of the handle when the latch bolt is extended from a lock housing, and allows movement of the handle when the latch bolt is retracted into the lock housing. An engaging and disengaging mechanism couples the handle to a locking pin such that movement of the handle is configured to operate the engaging and disengaging mechanism to lock the door.

METHOD FOR EXTENDING AND RETRACTING VEHICULAR DOOR HANDLE
20200362602 · 2020-11-19 ·

A method for extending and retracting a handle of a door handle assembly for a door of a vehicle includes providing a door handle assembly having a base portion, a handle portion that is movably attached at the base portion, and an electrically operable actuator that operates to move the handle portion relative to the base portion. A control controls operation of the actuator to move the handle portion between a recessed position and a partially extended position. Responsive to detecting presence of an authorized user, a sensing system determines a motion vector of the user that is indicative of a direction that the user is moving relative to the vehicle. Responsive to determining that the determined motion vector is indicative of the user approaching the door of the vehicle, the control controls operation of the actuator to move the handle portion to the partially extended position.
