A spring assembly for a handle set assembly includes a housing and a gear rotatably positioned within the housing. The gear has a default position and at least one actuated rotated position. The spring assembly includes at least one rack positioned within the housing. The at least one rack is movable in a rack displacement direction that is normal to the axis of rotation of the gear in response to rotation of the gear between a neutral position and a displaced position. The spring assembly includes a slider positioned at a first end of the at least one rack, the slider being slidable along the rack displacement direction. The spring assembly includes at least one spring captured between the housing and slider. The at least one spring is positioned to apply a spring force to the at least one rack toward the neutral position when the at least one rack is in the displaced position.

In a door lock, a locking mechanism includes an outer wheel, an inner wheel disposed inside the outer wheel and operable to rotate relative to the outer wheel, a clutch member disposed in the inner wheel and normally biased to radially extend from the inner wheel into the outer wheel to interengage the inner and outer wheels, and an arm plate sleeved around the inner wheel. When the inner wheel rotates in a first direction, the arm plate is driven by the inner wheel to actuate the deadbolt. When the inner and outer wheels are interengaged, the inner wheel drives the outer wheel by rotating in a second direction. When the inner wheel disengages from the outer wheel, rotation of the inner wheel in the first or second direction is idle relative to the outer wheel.

A door locking device for a smart door apparatus (10) is provided comprising an interior door handle positionable on an interior side of a door; an exterior door handle positionable on an exterior side of the door (14); a lock for the door (14) which is coupled to the interior door handle, the lock having a deadbolt which is activatable by actuation of the interior door handle; a controller for automatically generating an alert signal in the event of activation of the deadbolt; and a wireless communication module associated with the controller, the wireless communication module automatically transmitting the alert signal in the event of activation of the deadbolt.

A contact-minimizing door opening and closing system for a door has a handle including a shaft with an endplate disposed on the shaft opposite the handle and a latch bolt including a pin positioned to contact the endplate. The pin prevents movement of the handle when the latch bolt is extended from a lock housing, and allows movement of the handle when the latch bolt is retracted into the lock housing. An engaging and disengaging mechanism couples the handle to a locking pin such that movement of the handle is configured to operate the engaging and disengaging mechanism to lock the door.

The latch part is configured with a male part inserting into a female part on the driving part; the female part comprises a first installation position and a second installation position for installing the latch part; when the latch part is installed at the first installation position, a flat surface of the latch part faces towards a first direction; when the latch part is installed at the second installation position, the flat surface of the latch part faces towards a second direction which is opposite to the first direction. The present invention is advantageous in fast reversal of the installation of the latch bolt as well as the construction progress control and user experiences.

A safety door lock may include the door handle configured to be rotatable about a rotational axis and to slidably reciprocate in a horizontal direction and having a sliding groove on the side surface thereof adjacent to a door. The safety door lock may include a body combined with an inside of the sliding groove to form a rotating shaft with another door handle provided at the other side of the door and supporting sliding of the door handle so as to protrude the door handle from the front end of the door. The safety door lock may include an elastic unit fixed to the body, and elastically relaxing the door handle and the body. Other embodiments may also be provided.

A lockset (10) is actuable by pivoting a lever (14,16) about a longitudinal axis of the lockset (10) by rotating the lever (14,16) and by pivoting the lever (14,16) about an axis transverse to the lockset axis, such as by pushing or pulling. The lockset (10) includes an inside lever (14) and an outside lever (16), each associated with an independent mechanism, each of which can independently actuate the lockset (10). A keyed locking cylinder (250) is disposed axially in the outside lever (16) and pivots with the outside lever (16). The keyed lock cylinder (250) has an opening that pivotably engages an actuator (260). The actuator (260) extends into a retractor assembly (33) of the lockset (10) and is configured to perform an unlocking or locking function when actuated.
