Universal chassis for door handle assemblies
A door handle assembly includes a chassis, first and second trim plates, and a latch assembly. The chassis includes an interior chassis portion and an exterior chassis portion. The interior chassis portion is configured to extend from a first side of a door and includes at least one trim engagement mechanism. The exterior chassis portion is configured to extend from a second side of a door and includes at least one trim engagement mechanism. The first trim plate is configured to removably engage the first trim engagement mechanism, optionally via a trim plate adapter. The second trim plate is configured to removably engage the second trim engagement mechanism, also optionally via a trim plate adapter. The latch assembly extends between the exterior chassis portion and the interior chassis portion. The first trim engagement mechanism and the second trim engagement mechanism are capable of removably engaging with interchangeable trim plates.
INTERCHANGEABLE HANDLE LOCKSET
A handle set including a chassis and a handle mounted on the chassis. The handle includes a shank having a load bearing section, a primary actuating section, and a secondary actuating section. The chassis includes a housing, a support spindle, a primary actuator, and a secondary actuator. The support spindle is longitudinally coupled with the load bearing section, and the primary actuator is rotationally coupled with the primary actuating section of the handle. The handle set has a first configuration in which the secondary actuating section is engaged with the secondary actuator, and a second configuration in which the secondary actuating section is disengaged from the secondary actuator.

DOOR HANDLE ADAPTER FOR SPRUNG HUB
An adapter for either a handle set or a lever set door lever is equipped with a pair of springs to provide a pre-load on the spindle. The pre-load prevents sagging of the lever due to the large mass of the lever. A sleeve in the adapter is formed out of a compressible material that accepts the spindle in a press-fit configuration. This allows for greater manufacturing tolerances while still providing a solid and secure engagement between the spindle and the adapter. As a result, any free play in the lever is eliminated and the lever is maintained in a horizontal, home position when the lever is not in use. Following use through rotation of the lever, the springs promptly return the lever back to the home position while the sleeve prevents any slop or free-play in the lever's motion.

MANUAL CONTROL DEVICE OF THE OPENING AND CLOSING OF THE LOCK OF A DOOR OR WINDOW
A manual device opening and closing a lock of a door or window has a control rod; a supporting body having a cavity for the control rod; a manual gripping member having a housing; and an adapter interconnecting the gripping member and the supporting body. The adapter arranged in the housing provided in said gripping member and in turn having a housing for the supporting body. An elastic axial extraction block of the supporting body from the control rod. A block between the adapter element and the supporting body and between the adapter element and the manual gripping member. A supporting plate of the supporting body fixed to the door or window and has a hole for an end of the supporting body to rotatably engage and extends outside the adapter element. A braking and stabilizing member for inserting of the control rod in the cavity of the supporting body.

VARIABLE SPRING RATE CHASSIS
An apparatus including a chassis assembly having a housing, a spindle rotatably mounted to the housing, a spring collar rotatably mourned to the housing, a first biasing element rotationally urging the spindle toward a spindle home position, and a second biasing element rotationally urging the spring collar toward a spring collar home position. The apparatus may further include a handle mounted on the chassis such that the chassis biases the handle to a handle home position with a return torque. The handle is engaged with the spindle such that the first biasing element contributes to the return torque. In certain embodiments, the handle may further be engaged with the spring collar such that the second biasing element contributes to the return torque.
